and the circus goes on........
Not even that bothered about the result tbh, I just want to have a look at youngsters like Roach, Kieron Powell, Pascal and Tonge.

Hope the trophy for the series is less fugly than the one the Bangles got for beating University of West Indies Vice Chancellor's XI!

Bangladesh make their highest score against the West Indies in ODI's, posting 246/9. Ashraful got some runs finally as did Shakin and Mamadullah. Kemar Roach took another 5 wicket haul with some very fast bowling at the death.
If there is one positive to come out of this mess, it is him. No longer will I have to put up with Lionel Baker as our 3rd seamer. Unfortunately 246 will prove too much for Windies C as they will crumble as soon as the spinners come on.

Oh come on this is piss poor. Not one ball has turned and yet Richards and Reifer are making it look like a last day wicket in Mumbai.
Praise be to the WICB, what a great idea it will be to take these guys to the ICCCT to play against Australia and India.

Still "Scabados" then? I thought they had come to an agreement (even if a temporary one) and the big names were back for this series... :?:

They have agreed to mediation and the senior players made themselves available.
But the WICB are flexing its 'muscles' and have refused to pick the sneior players. They have also stated that the squad for the ICCCT will be picked only from those that made themselves available for the test series.
Therefore no Gayle, Shiv, Sarwan, Bravo bros, Barath, Taylor, Ramdin, Benn, Nash etc etc

The WICB have been successful in making me disinterested in a WI game which before this Bangladesh series I thought was impossible. But while I can't in good conscience root against a WI team but I cannot take this seriously when Floyd Reifer is not only on the team but is the only real option to captain the team.

The Bangla boys win comprehensively, by 52 runs. Razzak, the left arm spinner (shock) took 4/39.
Devon Smith, Dave Bernard Jr, Sammy, Lewis and Miller were the only ones who looked like they could bat at all.
Surely the WICB must see sense? If they don't and continue with this squad, they must drop Reifer and play a youngster like Kieron Powell. What is the point in playing someone like Reifer? Lewis provides the experience now, they don't need a captain who can't buy a run against the lowest ranked test nation.
Btw I think the ICC should say tell the WICB to pick their best players or Bangladesh will be allowed to take our place at the ICCCT.

Bangladesh aren't in the ICCCT? I assumed that it would be the same setup as the T20 with the nine full members and three qualifiers, but if it's only the top eight then it would certainly be harsh to exclude them in favour of a weak WI side that they have proved themselves better than.

Precisely........
West Indies full strength team have been the most consistent performers in the ICCCT, placing 1st and 2nd in the last two tournaments.
But a replacement Windies XI does not deserve to be there ahead of Bangladesh, or Ireland. If the WICB will not repent let someone more deserving into the tournament.

That attitude worked so well for Australia in the post-WSC era, the next WC in particular.WIFAN wrote:They have agreed to mediation and the senior players made themselves available.

Hope you're settled in for years of worse than mediocrity WIFAN.

Well our full strength team are capable of prolonged periods of mediocrity and huge underachievement anyway tbh.
But watching the current squad has given me a renewed appreciation of Shiv, Sarwan, Gayle and Bravo and their skill with the bat, particularly against spin. It's a shame because Kemar Roach could be a big part of the puzzle in terms if improving our senior team.

Looks like WICB is all determined to finish WI cricket and also buy a one day whitewash humiliation against Bangars at home to compliment their test wins....
Congrats to Bangars.....
R.I.P WI Cricket!

Maybe that's the pay off for a Bangladesh vote at the ICC table.Batman wrote:Looks like WICB is all determined to finish WI cricket and also buy a one day whitewash humiliation against Bangars at home to compliment their test wins....
