I was expecting the worst at Lord's, but I was actually impressed. Of course, he wasn't afraid to give his opinion, but he credited England when credit was due, and wasn't all lovey dovey over the Aussies, either. Had some good banter with Nass and Athers as well. A welcome addition to the Sky box, imo.

His German citizenship must have been approved ....

Agreed. No surprise though - he's always been ultra confident, articulate and never, as far as I remember, been conceptually challenged. If he'd turned out to be a jingoistic farkwit in the box you'd have to suspect Indian blood.

He goes alright, the ol' Warnie. Entertaining, not a jibberer, insightful, and happily takes questions (which he generally answers very diplomatically) about the goings on the Aus dressing room and relationships when he was in the team.

He got a bit personal when queried by Bumble about his so called duel with Cullinan. But otherwise he has been quite OK.

Is Warne contracted to Sky Sports now? Will we see more of him in the future or is he just here for the Ashes?

Probably just the Ashes.

Being a full-time commentator would get in the way of his poker/porker career.

He does a bit for Nein during Aus summers.

Hearing Warnie during the Windies and Pakistan series should be a delight rather than a chore.

I hope he has sorted out the 19 replays of Athers being dismissed by McGrath

I know, I'm still waiting for that.

It'll be interesting to see how some of the younger guys like Kemar Roach get on. Australia>>>>>>>Bangladesh. Massive difference, but plenty to play for.
