Is Trott the new Pietersen?
Cue hundreds of angry posts claiming Trott is more English than the English, learnt all his cricket in England, has an English Lion tattooed on his chest, etc, etc, blah, blah, blah

Trott has nowhere near the ability of Pietersen. More a solid, dependable type of player.

So he won't chuck the England captaincy in.
Just imagine if KP was more solid and dependable. He might have a test average over 50.

And England wouldn't have won the 2005 ashes. There's quite a lot of solida and dependable players in the England team- Strauss, Cook, Collingwood......Pietersen's unpredictable, inconsistent genius is just what we need.

Explain why KP has the highest average of that mob.

Because he's 10 times more talented than the next best guy (Strauss). What's inconsistent for KP is marvellous for the rest, because we know how good he is. Apart from KP, Bell and Bopara are the 2 most naturally gifted English batsmen. So frustrating that they are under achieving. They both have the ability to average late 40's.

Except that Collingwood hit a 96 in Brisbane and then a double century in Adelaide, horrie. But don't let the facts etc........
I think Bell's scored a 50 in 4 of his last 6 tests against Aus. He really is the new Ramprakash.

KP scores more because he has more talent, more self-belief, and he practices the hardest.

No, that's the reason he's the biggest knob in the England side.

Isn't that covered by the "has more talent" part?

Saffies have always been well endowed. Which is probably why you left Cape Town so abruptly.

Exactly, so imagine how high it would be if he was more solid and dependable.
