On to the JAMODI/T20 stuff
Terrible scheduling. WGAF about ODI's AFTER the ashes series. 7 of them no less. Geez. They should have just played all of this in May before the T20 world cup instead of hosting the Windies.
I assume that Trott will replace Flintoff in the England squad for the 50 over games. England for the first T20 could look something like-
Bopara
Denly
Prior+
Trott
Collingwood(c)
Shah
Wright
Broad
Rashid
Swann
Anderson
ODI team-
Strauss(c)
Bopara
Trott
Collingwood
Shah
Prior
Broad
Rashid
Swann
Sidebottom
Anderson

It's like going out to dinner at a 3 star restaurant and stopping by Maccas drive-though on the way home.
The T20 is like raiding the box of Tim Tams just before you go to bed.

Seven Matches you say? I thought I banned these a few months? Seven ODI's is an abomination to Cricket lovers and to the game.
Another Test match might work , in Trent Bridge?

7 one-dayers is bad enough without it being tacked on to the back of a major test series.
Limited-overs cricket desperately needs some sort of league system, but the the ICC could go a long way to fixing this problem in the meantime.
Two rules:
You are allowed to play one ODI for every Test you play and one Twenty20 for every two Tests you play - no more.
All limited-overs series must be played before the start of the corresponding Test series.
It would go a long way to getting things under control.

The BCCI will get you for that.

It is clownish. The giggle stuff will seem like watching some shit like Love Actually after watching Saw V.
Re: On to the JAMODI/T20 stuff
Aye, I've lost count of the tours where England have been mentally on the plane after a test series only for the ODI series to start.
I remember 86/7 in Aus had a farked up schedule - we played a one day tournament after the 2nd test, then I think (though not sure) we started the WSC before the last test?

That summer's schedule was extremely weird because they shoehorned an extra one-day series in to coincide with Perth hosting the America's Cup.
England and Australia played the first four Ashes tests, then they played a short quadrangular one-day series in Perth over the new year, then they played the fifth Ashes test, then the normal World Series.
Despite that the one-day tournament in Perth was actually really good fun.

Re: On to the JAMODI/T20 stuff
Think the point of this series in terms of scheduling and length is that both sides will be using it as preparation for the upcoming Champions Trophy.
Then again, I couldn't give a flying fark about that either, so . . .

Apparently Australia is playing some ODIs in India later this year as well, before the Tests v West Indies and Pakistan. Why, FFS?

I would guess that you didn't play any on the last test tour.

Then another bullshit 2020 tournament in May 2010 (not sure what this one is about) before we are back in England for Tests v Pakistan and ODIs v England...

Could be worse...they could be 2020s...at least ODIs retain a modicum of subtly.
