JAMODI
I always thought this term was specific to this particular forum and was invented on one of its predecessors (C4/ABC) but it now appears to have been used on a number of cricket forums and blogs (and even has an Urban Dictionary entry!)
Saw somewhere a suggestion it was "coined by an Aussie" but not sure whether that refers to an Australian forum or someone more well known in Aussie cricket perhaps? Or is it an FB/C4/ABC creation that has found its way into wider use, if so are there any other creations that have escaped the confines of these forums?

Re: JAMODI
Well the first place I came across it was on C4 and can't recall seeing it on any other forums I have frequented or visited.

Re: JAMODI
Well I hadn't seen it anywhere else until recently, can't remember where I spotted it but google "JAMODI cricket" and quite a number of different sites come up.

Google jamodi cricket and this place has more links.
I see the urban dictionary entry is date 2005 and am pretty sure it was common currency on C4 prior to that. In fact I seem to recall being on C4 prior to my joining in 2002.

Mentioned somewhere on this thread in 2005. You will probably recognise most of the names.
In fact I even see a certain Beamer there.

Re: JAMODI
Well reading the glossary preamble it looks like either Zat or Nath can give a definitive answer.
My feel is that it is either from C4 or ABC.

Re: JAMODI
The term was introduced to C4 from ABC forum as far as i remember. Can't remember the origins on the latter forum though.
Re: JAMODI
Aye, the ABC forum was definitely using it back in 2001. MB may remember who first coined the phrase. Maybe Nerkles?

Re: JAMODI
It was certainly an ABC term. I think we started off complaining about the number of "Meaningless One Day Internationals" and it went from there.
It is one of our great contributions to the global cricket lexicon.

IIRC, both Daniel and Dellboy have at various times claimed parentage of various phrases that have since gone into the vernacular (meaning, beyond these forums).

If only. Yet to hear it repeated in the Sky commentary box.
Belf and Belfohl™ have also yielded no cultural gains, alas.
