Australian State Cricket - 09-10 season

he is promising but too young to be pushed ahead of others at this time...unlike Horrors he can spin the ball and unlike Crazy he lands most balls on the pitch...however promotion at this stage will completely stuff his development as it did with the once promising Horrors years ago

The Queensland team -
Chris Simpson (c), Glen Batticciotto, Ryan Broad, Lee Carseldine, Ben Cutting, Chris Hartley, Nick Kruger, Ben Laughlin, Nathan Reardon, Grant Sullivan, Wade Townsend, Scott Walter (12th man to be named).

The Western Australian team -
Marcus North (c), David Bandy, Brett Dorey, Michael Hogan, Brad Knowles, Steve Magoffin, Shaun Marsh, Ashley Noffke, Wes Robinson, Luke Ronchi, Luke Towers, Adam Voges. (12th Man to be named).

James Hopes has minor injury problems & was replaced in the squad by Scott Walter. With Ryan Harris & Chris Swan both unavailable due to injury & Ashley Noffke moving to WA, Qld will have an understrength attack. The batting lineup also contains a few with little FC experience.

Hopefully Laughlin can show some of the form that saw him selected in Australia's ODI team. It will be a good opportunity for a few of these to establish themselves at Shield level.

It was a pretty racist decision for Aus not to include Usman Khawaja in any of their A teams in the last 8 months, I thought. Instead they went with Ryan 'never will be' Broad.

I can't really understand for the rest of the comment but that is probably because I don't understand the concept of "racism" & how it applies to that situation. That is one of the good things about Flaming Bails. It's a great edjamacation tool. I'm learning more & more about racism every day. No, I haven't seen any of it. Krazy needed better control but I would also like to point out that George (FAC) is leading Tasmania this year & will be setting much better fields for Krazy than those that Ricky gave him.

Tasmania is the new powerhouse of Australian cricket.

Ponting, Hilfenhaus, Paine, Geeves, Bailey, and Krezja are all likely to remain or become Australian reps over the next year or two.

Paine may beat Bailey to FAC imo.

Century partnership & fifties to Hartley & Simpson. Simpson couldn't get past 49 during the 2008/09 season so he's done better in his first knock this season.
