Ntini would be next.

Vettori's better than both of them.

Better or worse than Harbhajan?
Probably have Harbhajan as a better bowler, but would prefer Vettori in a team if I had to make a choice between the two.

I'd pick Vettori as well, nothing to do with cricket but more the fact that Harbhajan is a massive twat.

Someone like Vettori who can get results when you need them irregardless of the pitch or circumstances is pretty handy. Flight and drift are uner-rated.

Warne's record in India is very hard to assess because he only toured India on one occasion when fully fit.

In 1998, he was playing with a shoulder that was literally hanging together by a thread.

In 2001 he was rushed back from injury while still unfit.

In 2004 Warne was completely fit and in top form, coming off a very successful tour of Sri Lanka. He played 3 tests and took 14 wickets at 30 before missing the final match with a broken thumb . I think that's a fairer look at what Warne was capable of against the best players of spin on Indian pitches.

Get ready for the subis to descend upon you like rabid dogs Hass. They don't accept that argument about Warney in India.

with regards to 1998. warne hadnt missed any international matches before the tour and played all tour matches in india. after the tests he continued to play in 10 odis after that in the next one month. not the signs of a man with a huge physical problem

in 2001 he had played 9 odis immediately preceding the india tour. played all tour matches in india, 9 odis again after the tests and then proceeded to pick up 31 wickets at 19 against the clueless poms

in 2004 against an injury hit india he picked up laxman thrice and sehwag twice. the rest were muppets

In 2004 when they were both fit, Warne gave Murali a bowling lesson on his home turf. Pretty impressive considering only one of them was actually bowling.

harpie Singh's effectiveness declined once he could not throw his doosra...vettori is a far better bowler in all conditions...

i think kumble improved as he aged - his last tour here was his most successful...violets is so far ahead of singh comparisons are ludicrous..

re deadly - he was very effective on pitches and conditions that suited but innocuous in other circumstances..

re Lock - his record is the first to have the metaphorical asterisk against his figures ...I saw Lock bowl and after he had been called, Fat Tony took to wearing enormous shirts with very wide sleeves which he never rolled up or buttoned at the wrist...this had the effect of disguising his action

really...his contribution to WA cricket (and thereby Oz cricket) probably needs greater recognition. I think the poms were put into a position where they could no longer select him. In those days the english were very keen to throw the word chucker around whenever they confronted a demon fast bowler...the debate around poor Charlie Griffiths being a case in point - let alone Meckiff

I've always thought Lock's action was atrocious. Thing is we didn't change the rules to fit him in. We may have ignored it.....

Aye - a cheap thread in which Zim points out that the 300 club isn't what it used to be, comments on a Harry paunch (harsh, but that's Zim), and does NOT at any stage say that he would prefer the existing Australian spinners to Vettori. Nor does any other poster on the thread.

Brett Lee gets rubbished more than Vettori ... (and deservedly so)
