Still no supporters rushing to praise Channel 9, though. Even Modi can count on a few misguided enthusiasts.

Even their greatest moment - when they stayed with the cricket for the Steve Waugh ton - I missed because I was at the game.

Bullsh!t. I reckon plenty of Aussies (and others) thought how grouse he momentarily was that night, because Nine announced that Gyngell was at the ground and had decreed that the News be delayed until Tugga reached the milestone.

Do you think Gyngell would have done it without the Big Fella's OK though?

I was just pointing out that Packer was probably the real hero.

And I merely pointed out that Hendo came on and said Gyngell had made the decision to stay with the cricket.JGK wrote:I was just pointing out that Packer was probably the real hero.
If the Big Goanna called him and told him "you farkin take the cricket off, Qunt, and I'll spread your liver on my toast for breakfast" then it wasn't widely reported.
But it mattered nowt to me.

Re: Have you ever NOT had the shits with Channel Nine? ...
My favourite moment of Channel 9 ineptitude or outright bastrady:
It was 1997. Norths and Easts were playing a semi-final on a Saturday afternoon. The match started at 3pm but was being shown on a one-hour delay. After 80 minutes the scores were tied, sending the match into extra time (which was still 10 minutes each way in those days).
Channel 9 showed the first minute of extra time then cut away to a graphic showing the final score.
The time was 6pm and they had to cross to the news.
I think it's the only time I've ever called a TV station to complain about something (despite threatening to do so on many occasions).

It's so quaint how you type 'Bullsh!t'/skully wrote:Bullsh!t. I reckon plenty of Aussies (and others) thought how grouse he momentarily was that night, because Nine announced that Gyngell was at the ground and had decreed that the News be delayed until Tugga reached the milestone.
I still reckon most poeple would've been thinking that Nein had done the right thing for once, and not GAF about who made the decision.
