Re: Australia v Pakistan, 2nd Test, SCG, January 3-7
And here is the linky...
From Dickinfo...
"Pakistan have suffered a major blow on the eve of the second Test with Mohammad Aamer ruled out with a groin injury.
Mohammad Yousuf had expressed concern over Aamer waking up stiff this morning, and said they would make a decision only after he bowled in the nets. But Aamer had brushed off the concerns, saying it was just stiffness from bowling so many overs and that he would definitely play.
"He has a groin injury and though it doesn't appear serious, we decided not to risk him for the Test," Abdur Raquib, the team manager, told Cricinfo. "He had a bowl and the on-tour selection committee decided to leave him out." "
------------------------------------
In discussion of the class of Umar and Aamer during T1, I did suggest that he didn't have the build to cope with constant 150 kph deliveries, and that he would snap in half, ala Chook Reid. Seems it's already happening.

This test is Pak's best chance, especially for their batsmen. Don't know if they can win this, but best test to strike some form and hope for a draw.

Aamer's absence is a killer blow for Pakistan and indeed the interest surrounding this test match.

Apparently it is going to be a pitch for the seamers and the winner of the toss might even bowl.

An innocent bystander saw a man with a colostomy bag and a baseball bat, high tail it out of Katich's abode just hours ago.

Covers are coming off. Hopefully with a minimum of stuffing around, play might start around 11, or maybe 10 past.

Just for something different it's raining in grey city. But Sydney apologist Jim Maxwell always euphemistically refers to it as mizzle.

Punter just said that if he was Katich he would be down in the chamber today trying to get his elbow right in case we don't start until tomorrow.

The lawn is green, don't know how much landed in the catchments. About 2 hours North they got a lot more, and likewise just over the Vomit border.

It's a fact that it rains more in Sydney than Melbourne.

And there come the Vomits with their chips on their shoulders. Nobody's actually said anything about Melbourne's weather, other than Jim Maxwel, or my comment on the rain (or lack of) around my region. Fark, it's predictable.
