Spanky thinks poms are looking good for next year's Ashes

England has a long batting list and is managing to retain a narrow lead over a reviving South Africa.
(Perhaps he's forgotten we hammered them over there)
Australia ought not to read too much into its dramatic triumph at the SCG. For most of the contest, Ponting and company were outplayed by the sixth-ranked side.
(Perhaps he might note that England was outplayed in Cape Town)
Once the dust has settled, Sydney may be seen as Australia's poorest performance of the summer.
(True, but how often will we see pitches that result in Punter batting first that will allow us to be bowled out for 127? In essence Pakistan getting ahead in the match was in no same way due to him allowing their seamers first use of super seamer-friendly conditions.)
No doubting that Australia has its problems and won't go near to replicating the 5-0 performance but will England's bowlers, especially Swann (an off-spinner) find Australian conditions too friendly? After all they've had first use of conditions in SA in all three tests when bowling has been at its most conducive yet been outplayed in two of the tests, regardless of a scoreline which favours them.

Still, hard to disagree with Spanky's overall comments. Should be a tight contest.

"FIND SOMETHING ELSE TO DO BESIDES DERIDING SMITH AND QUOTING SPANKY"
Preferably that 'something' doesn't involve a computer, but does involve interface with a moving train....

Playing on an expressway would also suffice. As would using scissors and a power socket.

I thought quoting Spanky was my sole role on this forum.

Sole role, but not exclusive domain. It's basic forum etiquette FFS.
