He's got a tour of India coming up. Could make it tight to get there ahead of Beefy and MacGill.

Probably Donald. Quicker and lost a lot of his early test career

They're incredibly similar, I'd have both. What an opening attack. Steyn's incredibly impressive. I'm smug because I 'Trevved' him before anyone else.
Re: Dale Steyn
Steyn's still pretty young. He might go on to be better than Donald yet.

AD every time for me too.
Pure aggression harnessed to raw speed and clever variation.
Steyn doesn't look like a guy who wants to hurt batsmen enough ....

And people are comparing a full Donald career with the early part of a Steyn one. At the same time in their careers, I'd have Steyn.

Re: Dale Steyn
A very relevant point was made in the comm box after play ended yesterday.
It revolved around how todays technology brought into sharp focus (and in high definition slo-mo), the idiosyncrasies and weaknesses of batsmen all around the world - thus enabling bowlers to focus on areas that would inevitably result in them getting their man.
Does the panel therefore believe that perhaps Steyn's figures (great bowler as he no doubt is) are enhanced by that fact ... whereas AD had to work things out for himself (and the coach) without the modern tecnology (as it is today) assisting him.
Furthermore, would this techno advancement perhaps make an ordinary bowler into a better one as things are made easier for him by just watching replays of each batsmen immediately before he takes the field?
Finally, at this rate, will MuMu's and Warnes feats (and figures) be surpassed in future years with techno/referrals/snicko/etc etc assisting the cause of the modern bowler's amassing of wickets ?

Re: Dale Steyn
That works the other way around too though Merls. Batsmen can watch bowlers in infinite detail and see what they're up to. Equally, batsmen can work on small weaknesses that in past years they wouldn't have been aware of.

AD played a lot of his test cricket under Woolmer who was one of the first to use technology. Obviously it was not as good as today's.
