Greek Princes are funny
Faux pas Phil strikes again
"Do you work at strip club, Prince Philip asks cadet
2010-03-12 11:30:00
Prince Philip, known for his gaffe-prone remarks, asked a sea cadet whether she works at a strip club, a media report said Friday.
The Duke of Edinburgh was inspecting cadets in Exeter and asked 24-year-old barmaid Elizabeth Rendle what she did for a living, Daily Express reported.
'I told him I worked in a club.
'He then asked if it was a strip club. Then he said it's a bit too cold today anyway,' Rendle was quoted as saying.
She, however, added: 'He was just putting people at ease.'
The Sun reported that in 1986 he told a group of British students in China: 'If you stay here much longer, you'll all be slitty-eyed'.
Prince Philip asked a driving instructor in Scotland in 1995: 'How do you keep the natives off the booze long enough to get them through the test?'
During a tour of Australia in 2002 he asked an Aborigine if they still threw spears at each other."
Stoopid old qunt.

Re Prince Philip .... Stoopid old qunt.
Nah ... he's awrite for an El Greco ... some of his gaffes are quite amusing, and the geezer IS almost 90 years old. I guess not having much of a sex life (separate bedrooms, 3 acres apart at the inappropriately named Buck House), must create an inner tension which drives him to make such gaffes.
I liked the "slitty eyed" and permanently pissed Jocks (driving instructor) references though ... neither of them inaccurate, just un-PC.

Re: Greek Princes are funny
I used to be in Sea Cadets, along with a good mate of mine (at the time anyway). He got to meet Prince Philip, who asked him what a certain badge on his uniform was.
My friend told him it was the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme badge. It seems he failed to recognise his own award...

I'm surprised he didn't ask what sort of award that was then.

He's alright really though. He's like a less offensive version of Frankie Boyle - just calls it as he sees it.
The Scottish one is brilliant though.

Scottish comedian.
In the words of Malcolm Tucker in In the Loop: "Don't EVER call me English again."

I always liked Phil the Greek's response when someone asked him how his flight was. He said "Have you been on a plane?", the answer was affirmative so he said "Well, it was just like that".

He didn't so much infer it as just blatantly come out and say it. That's why I like him, no beating around the bush or subtle innuendo, he just says it. It's the comedy equivalent of being slammed in the face repeatedly with a large number of bricks.

Yep... I like Philliposus ... he tells it like he sees it and to hell with the consequences.
A great example of someone who has total and absolute disdain for the PC brigade.
And long may that continue.

Re: Greek Princes are funny
Tell me Lever ... just what is abjectly wrong about a person expressing himself as he sees fit AND without malice aforethought ? Or is no one allowed to say anything without being labelled a "racist" these days?
Petey refers to Hitler ... you raise the "racist" flag ... I mean WTF are people allowed to say these days without upsetting a small faction who see wrong in just about everything in the spoken word - unless it conforms with their own particular PC view!
Do me a favour ... point fingers at the judiciary who let off repeat offenders ... a Home Secretary who refuses to release the identity of the Bulger killer (who BTW is kept annoymous at a cost to the taxpayer of some £half a million annually ... a PM who takes the country to an illegal war based on lies - and then fails to provide adequate equipment for said troops, leaving them exposed to an easy death, then BSing his way through an enquiry making no apology ... councils who refuse to support the elderly of the borough yet willingly provide support for immigrants recently moved into their borough ...MP's who deem themselves above the law ... after fiddling their expenxes illegally!
The list is endless FFS ... the quirks of a malaise society over the past 15 years which erodes the principles of family life and each day raises the bar of political correctness whilst labelling people (who fought - and died - for the freedom of this country) as racists when they make innocuous private comments which are then regarded by Willy Nomarks as inappropriate and inflamatory !
And then the "Hitler" word is raised .... oh well !
