I know the odds of getting an answer to this question are slim, but brockley, do you ever get tempted to take part in discussions in other parts of the forum?

McDonald has'nt been delisted yet, he just missed out on the first round of contracts. There is still a chance he will be picked up again but the rumour is that Tassie are looking for a second overseas import for the 20/20. To do this they will need to offer a full contract so Macca will miss out & prolly head back to WA.

Cricket ACT overhauls Twenty20
BY JAMES BUCKLEY, CRICKET
29 Apr, 2010 07:58 AM
Cricket ACT has taken the next step to inclusion in the nation-wide Big Bash tournament by approving a revamped Twenty20 competition for season 2010-11.
All eight clubs in the association have agreed to a radical overhaul of the game in Canberra, which includes replacing the traditional one-day Konica Cup with a season-long Twenty20 competition.

Limited-overs matches will now be intertwined with the two-day fixture list, meaning every club will play each other once in both forms of the game over summer.

The annual Twenty20 Big Bash tournament currently includes every first-class state, but Cricket Australia is considering an expansion to include two more teams. With Canberra eager to secure its spot in the Big Bash, Cricket ACT chief executive Mark Vergano said restructuring the local competition was a step in the right direction.

''Before we were quite happy to sit back and run a one-weekend knockout [Twenty20 competition], suddenly the door's open for potentially a whole lot of other things,'' Vergano said.

''The clubs themselves realise the game itself is moving into a new space and they want to be part of that space.

''It fully incorporates all three forms of the game now whereas before we were paying lip service to it. People see that the concept is not a fly-by-night, it's here and there are opportunities.''

For the past four seasons, the Canberra competition has featured a Twenty20 knock-out competition run over a single weekend

So with Mitch Marsh (expected to be a top ten pick) and Keath choosing cricket, the tables are perhaps being turned on the AFL which has lured potential top cricketers to footy over the past few decades including the likes of Luke Ball and Hodge.

Maybe that is one upside of T20.
