US Open
They are all doing it tough in the first round at Pebble Beach.
Gawd knows what sort of numbers I could produce on a course like that.
Astronomical.

aye, the visuals are great. You might surprise yourself with how well you would go around there, off the middle tees, with little breeze.

Lordy, some high scores there, and they reckon Pebble Beach is yet to show it's teeth.

Re: US Open
My mate Paul Gow told me that they shrunk the greens, they are bumpy and by sunday so fast that they won't be able to stay on.

Re: US Open
I played St Andrews a month before the 2000 Open.
Played brilliantly tee to green (for me anyway) and then took about 50 putts to get around (and that included a birdie about 5 pars). The greens were so big and so fast I could barely stop the ball withing 6 feet.

You should try it in December.

The way I play, there wouldn't be enough sunlight hours in the day in East Fife in December for me to finish a round.

Re: US Open
If you get up early enough, put on a drizabone, fill a hip flask full of McCallans you can normally get around just before the Dunvegan Hotel arcs up it's kitchen for dinner.

Re: US Open
Just the bug, which the Docs have given up on. No chyrossis (or HTW you spell it) yet. And playing golf in Scotland in Winter is why the game was invented according to the caddies, whom strangely enough don't work much in Winter, preferring to piss themselves laughing from the bar at the New Club at the idiots trying to.

Cirrhosis - but we'll forgive you, qmy, cos it's a farkin weird word.
And I'm envious of you golfers. Love to play myself but haven't for 7 years due to a dodgy lumbar disc.

Tiger blitzes it on moving day - now into 3rd. Might be in a group with Ernie on the last day.

Re: US Open
Glad to see that fat qunt Mickelson go backwards.
Carn the Northern Irishman. Hard to see Johnson, whose previous best finish is a tie for 40th, hanging on, but who knows.
I wonder if Tiger celebrated his good round with 3 or 4 stray r00ts after play?

7 over for the round after 10 holes
Be ironic if a saffie won with all around him choking

Re: US Open
Sh!t, forgot about this. Go the Northern Oirishman, and PMSL at the mad r00ter. Also good to see Fat Mickelson out of contention. And no surprise that Johnson choked.
Hehehe, a Northern Irelander, a Frog and a Yarp as the top 3. Takes me back to the Masters pre-Tiger when no Yank was able to win it for years.
