Re: Rugby Leeeeg 2010 (II)
This is the worst display of paid professionals upholding the rules of rugby league that I have ever seen. To think it's a grand final.

No off-side, forward passes allowed and the most unflattering tattoos ever seen.
And it's raining, might as well be watching the annual Batley v Dewbury Boxing Day sh!t fest.

Seems like a very solid performance by the dragons, despite some terrible refereeing against them . . . .

Roosters lost it by not scoring late in the first half after having a mountain of possession.
Appalling decision early in the second half when Minni was tackled without the ball five metres from the try line.

And whoever thought they needed to get Ray Warren out of hospital to commentate, or give Brad Fittler a microphone (I assume it was the same genius on both counts) shoudl be shot.
Well done Drags.
Congrats especially to the forum Drag queens on breaking the drought.

The least I could do was be magnaminous. The Dragons don't have anywhere near the feral quotient of this year's AFL premiers.

Woooooo-farkin-hoooooooo!!!!!!
Massive day for the mighty Dragons!!! That stinkin' choke monkey is finally off the back. Benny IS the Messiah.
Just back from an excellent day at the little bro's watching the Drags do it hard in the first half with a poor display, then come motoring home in the 2nd half 26-0 (32-8 overall).
Huzzah for the Big Red V. I'm thinking JGK will have a sore head and a lighter wallet (courtesy of his insurance bet on the R00ters - assuming he actually put it on, well played, man) in the morning.
And the Bannies collapsed - so all-in-all, a grouse arvo and evening.

Re: Rugby Leeeeg 2010 (II)
Just got back from the match (it's 1.30 am now in Sydney). Many many beers. Much singing. Much gibbering about how grouse we were in that second half. Much talk about a dynasty now that the spell is broken. Much praising of Wayne Bennett.
Yes I am a fair bit poorer but totally and utterly worth it.
And to make things even better, I see that the Bannies had a lower order collapse to give Aust the first innings lead.
Good times.

Excellent and long awaited post that's only been 31 years in the making.

Aye Peter. I didn't know you were a fellow pie-eater .
Always nice to beat Saints - but you can never write 'em off. I know they were missing both first-pick half backs, but I don't think it would have made much difference TBH ... we were all over them like a rash from the whistle. The almost relentless pressure forced the errors. Had Richards not gone off, his penalty kicking would have killed them off a bit sooner - what a bloody cruel end for him to an absolutely outstanding season.
I see we're getting Ryan Hoffman, Jeff Lima and Brett Finch ffor the season from the Storm.
Any Australian posters able to tell me anything about them, please ?

two good forwards...hoffman in particular is ace..finch is a clever half back...not quite top flight but not far away...the wiggles have done well in snaring them

Re: Rugby Leeeeg 2010 (II)
Thanks H. Maybe not such a surprise for us to sign them .... Michael Maguire, our head coach joined us 12 months ago from Melbourne - assistant to Bellamy I believe.
Looks like the three are out of contract and are happy to follow a well-respected, successful coach. Those three will boost an already very strong squad - although Lima will be a like-for-like replacement for prop forward Iafeta Paleaaesina who we're losing.

also hodges and presumably Inglis furious that the Storm wont foot Inglis' legal bill from assault charges...one reason they won't is that it would be counted in the salary cap...the other of course is that they should not be footing such bills anyway
