India v Australia, 2nd Test, Bangalore, Oct 9-13, 2010
I hate Bangalore.
Until the 2nd session of the 4th day, I'd have wanted Ishant to be dropped for Sreesanth, but now I hope he gets fully fit for this. Seemed to have found his rythm at last. Also hope VVS recovers from his injury. But we don't need the situation we had in this test of being one bowler and one batsman short during crucial moments of the game, so Sree and Pujara in for them if they can't make a complete recovery.
And Hauritz surely has to go.

Shame this series is only 2 tests, could have been a cracker.

Surely VVS can't be fit.
Smith for Bolly and give Watto some more bowling?

Works for me, JGK. I reckon Watto is good for at least a dozen overs per innings.
I'd personally punt Nought but I reckon the NSP will stick with him.
VVS and Ishant must be in doubt (had painkillers for his right knee to bowl and bat). VVS wouldn't want to come in half fit and then call for a runner. Drunky will tell him to go fark himself.

There's some advantages to giving a runner in tight situations. More chance of a running fark up.

Bollinger has an abdominal strain.
Ishant wont be fit, and VVS is borderline. For Aus, I think they should bring in Smith for North, and maybe George for Bollinger, making it a 5 man attack.

Gambhir is also out of this test, and Abhinav Mukund has joined the squad. He wont play though because Vijay will slot in at the top of the order.

Sehwag
Dravid
Tendulkar
Laxman (If not fit then Pujara)
Raina

Bangalore pitch had pretty good bounce in the last IPL matches. If Ishant was fit, going with 3 pacers would probably been an option, but now i think they'd go with 2 pacers and 2 spinners.

Bhajji returning to some sort of form was a real bonus for India. He bowled quite poorly for much of the Aus 1st innings but he looked quite dangerous in the 2nd.

the toss should probably be less important in bangalore. though hopefully that klutz dhoni does some good and wins it for a change. one more loss and it will be a world record

So if Aus had've won the 1st Test, would it have made any difference to the pitch prepared for Bangalore?

Re: India v Australia, 2nd Test, Bangalore, Oct 9-13, 2010
Well, no surprises here
"Australia's selectors have backed middle-order batsman Marcus North despite him making three ducks in his previous three Tests. North has scored more than 10 only thrice in 13 second innings, but the chairman of selectors, Andrew Hilditch, indicated that he could still win a place in the Ashes squad.
''No player is safe in international cricket, you've got to perform,'' Hilditch told Sydney Morning Herald. ''What we do know is that he [North] was in excellent form in the tour game, he's scored hundreds at international level, he's scored hundreds against England. He is a very classy player. He'd be disappointed he failed, like any other player.'' "
...and...
"Another player who did not perform in Mohali was offspinner Nathan Hauritz, who managed three tailenders' wickets in the match and looked ineffective on the fifth day. He too received a vote of confidence from Hilditch. ''I'm not reading too much into Nathan's performance because he took three wickets," he said. "He's been averaging about 4½ [runs an over] since he came into the Test side, and he's performed really well for us. The reality is that this was not a wicket that suited spin bowling. He's been our premier spinner for well over 12 months now; that's how we still see him"
Hauritz also has strong support from Ricky Ponting, who called the offspinner a 'lock-in' for the Ashes two months ago."
-------------------------------------------------------------------
FFS, these quntish NSP members are more concerned about not hurting players feelings than winning Test matches. Qunts.
I have images of English supporters pointing and laughing at us Aus supporters.

They won't go in with 2 spin bowlers who the captain is too scared to bowl
It will be George (even though the spiv media was trying to talk up Starc)

Sage, Woody. Very scary that Drunky (probably rightly) wasn't game to lob Haurie the ball in the dying overs. Warney would've been ripping heads off to get hold of the ball.
Haurie's line was very poor. He kept lobbing it out wide hoping for hero-moment big spin instead of bowling like Ojha did - tight with the odd one doing a bit.
