Could be a tight one. Yarps only made a paltry 6-351.

Zimbabwe hit the ground running. 52/0 off 8 overs.

They'll run out of gas at about 260.

Depends how the young Saffie bowlers hold up. Parnell certainly looks out of sorts, according to Cricinfo.

Some newish names in the SAffie side. Ingram, Miller and Theron. Seems the Yarps have a better handle on "transition" than Aus do.
Looks like we are going into a period of SAf v India dominance.

The series between those two will certainly be juicy.

Aye, Smerkles. As much as it pains me to see Aus struggling, I admire the South African willingness to bite the bullet and move some careers on. India are currently surfing a wave of dominance on the back of their masterful but aging batsmen.

As I said in the Sachin thread, it appears that the Saffies have a vast spectrum of dominance. They're very hit or miss, but when they hit, they hit with power and venom. No-one can touch them when they're on fire.
With Test rankings on the line, I can see SA going all out to prevent an Indian victory.

If the SAffies can get Morkel bowling consistently (in support of Steyn), they will be the no. 1 side for some time. They still lack a world class spinner but their depth is very impressive. I can see India and South Africa touching up Aus in the coming years until Aus goes through and comes out of a recovery phase. I expect Aus to be at 4 or 5 in the rankings for a few years.

My 260 prediction may be looking generous. Zimbots slump to 3-123 approaching half way.

Zimmers only need 10 an over off the last 20.

SA hasn't moved on Langeveldt though; he's looked gone for quite some time and is certainly long in the tooth. They did make a call on Ntini and seemingly Boucher in ODIs.
Ingram made the second highest ton on ODI debut.
