Aus v Sri Lanka ODIs Empty Aus v Sri Lanka ODIs

These follow pretty quickly after the current series in India. Aus have three days after arriving home before the first ODI of this series, if i'm not mistaken.

With the ashes now a priority, Aus are likely to rest Clarke, Hussey, and all of their front line bowlers from this series, in favour of playing a shield game for their states.

It's becoming more and more common for teams to basically play their second XIs in ODI series that aren't of vital importance. The Aussies probably want this series like a hole in the head, (although some would argue Ponting already has one of those).

Why did our idiot board agree to the series in the first place then?

Seriously, in most of the ODIs these days teams are without at least 4-5 of their first choice players because of resting, injuries etc.

ODIs in late '90s and early '00s used to be much better.
