sadly it will not be Hildegarde...he remains under the "I'm simmo's son in law" rule...I think the next weak link is Jamie Cox...but I think they will give Merv the knock - because he was a bowler

Wishful thinking about Hildick being given the flick, sadly we are stuck with him till at least the next WC.
My money would be on Mervyn, seems to have more interest in the tour groups plus can't follow International tours from home.

Good points AGAINST all selectors in the article ...sack the lot and appoint 3 ozzies off this forum as their replacements

Couldn't be any worse...although Vomits should be excluded in the delusional belief that Podge And Shyte add anything to the team.

I am nominating Zim, Horace, tac and Red as a balanced and unparrotisan panel. Woody can be the tiebreaker.

Re: Who is the weakest link.
phurt...given we think domestic cricket is far more important and that the Champs' players should not be pulled out for meaningless international matches, I think that 3 Victorian forummers should form the NSP - Nath to be the chair supported by Fred and I - red can supply what red is good for showing...
Our rule would see not one of the Champs players selected for Int T20s or Jamodis.

Seconded. And if appointed and we lost I wouldn't stubbornly sit at a press conference and not admit liability or deny that "we got it wrong", like that qunt Hilditch does.Zat wrote:Sage.

but as you'd still keep selecting hopeless dubbers anyway - you will not get the job...as neutrals Nath, Fred and I have the job

Now now, h, a proud Spiv I may be, but I am not averse to bagging a Dubber if they genuinely don't belong. I lead the calls for Pup to be banished back to Shield when he was struggling. Similarly, I do not trumpet the "worth" of Phews, and Haurie has not convinced me he is the man for the Aus XI spin job.
The best Aus XI on the park, irrespective of their home State, is always what I want.

some fairish (and not totally ) comments from young S...However the 3 of us are totally neutral as we will not select a Champs player and can be relied on to select the best available side from the remaining States.
...but you have a history of blind support for certain other players of the spiv variety...you took a long time to change your mind on the koalas for example and have proved notoriously unreliable on the fleas front...it has also been reported that you had a Peter Toohey poster in your bedroom

My "blind" support is only matched by your blind hatred of the same players, h.
I guess you are mainly referring to Fleas and Haddit?
And you are getting me mixed up with Woody on the Peter Toohey hero worship.

I hereby pledge my support for eleven Vomits to be selected in the Aus XI if the first 6 can bat like Warnie could bowl, the keeper can keep like Warnie could bowl, and the 4 bowlers can bowl as effectively and successfully as Warnie could bowl.

... ....an outrage ...the champs will never agree to release such players to be wasted playing for Australia in non event matches

yayayay....we prefer the Shield - even when the Champs are getting a towelling, as they are today...at least it is a fair and decent competition

Aye h, Shield is grouse, but I can't put it in front of Test matches. Espesh the Ashes, AB/Sunny, Nelson Tests (and Frank games when the Windies were good).

Re: Who is the weakest link.
Shield is ahead of all jamodis and Int T20 and ahead of Test series against Paksters, windies (sadly), lankans, zims and bannies (on their home roads)..
While I am appalled, Shield for me is currently ahead of Tests v saffies, poms and bannies (here) until there is a shake up at Cricket Australia and a completely new and capable NSP is appointed (I'd keep GSC)
