Seems like Aus are more concerned with a smooth captaincy transition, rather than a successful T20 side, no matter how embarrassing the consequences.
Can't imagine there's been such an obvious passenger in an Aussie cricket team since Tubby Taylor from 95 to 97. And he at least was an excellent captain who continued to win cricket matches despite his own horrible form. Clarke is just taking the whole team down with him.

Re: Michael Clarke
As it was discussed in another thread, Modi got this one right.

Re: Michael Clarke
Well Modi had no control over which IPL franchise did or didn't buy Clarke.
He was actually valued at the same amount as Kevin Pietersen (Around $900,000 US) before he withdrew from the auction so that tells you a lot about the reckless spending the franchises were doing.

Re: Michael Clarke
The tenor of Greg Chappell's comments last week re. Clarke suggested that he could be on borrowed time in the T20 form. He strongly endorsed White's captaincy credentials.

As we've been saying for 18 months. Maybe GSC will slap that idiot Hilditch about and treat him with the contempt he deserves.Red wrote:He strongly endorsed White's captaincy credentials.
ShyT MUST be the new T20 skipper, and Clarke MUST be jettisoned immediately.

Re: Michael Clarke
Has anyone commented on WTF John Hastings was doing in that side yesterday. Watto and Hussey could have easily covered his overs and a proper batsman, even Hodge, could have played instead.

Re: Michael Clarke
We're the model of the erstwhile poms - pick ageing players - pick the captain first regardless of his worth as a player.

Modi has absolute control on the reserve price that was tagged for the players.Henry wrote:Well Modi had no control over which IPL franchise did or didn't buy Clarke.
