Michael Clarke's form
Is it a serious concern? He hasn't made a score of 50+ since his first innings century at Adelaide back in early December last year.
Distracted by the captaincy? Tired? Back worse than he's letting on? Eyes just starting to go? Bowlers stepping up a gear when he comes to the crease?
And I still think he's a softcock for dropping himself down to number five again after a few failures. Doolan and Marsh at three and four are extremely flaky.

All of the above in your second para (my brain switches off as soon as I read the word 'softcock' so I wouldn't know about the last).
Surprised it's taken this long to come up. Actually in the time you talk about he hasn't even got to 30.

Re: Michael Clarke's form
Standard henry thread.
Is it a serious nuisance? He hasn't stopped churning out ill judged, ill timed, uninformed and generally vacuous threads since....2007?
Manic craving for attention? An urge to fulminate? Desire to appear more knowledgeable than we suspect he is? Perhaps a mix of all of the above?
And I still think he's a softcock for negging me and reporting me umpteen times to the admin. Typing his impotent urge to physically assault me on a message board is extremely flaky.

PMSL. I've never reported anyone, let alone someone as weird as you, who attracts the ire of forum editors even without the help of posters alerting them to your habitual trolling.

I think Clarke's form is of serious concern...he makes 20 and then plays a clotto type get out shot.....compounded by 3 of the other top 5 being all duck no dinner types (of which marsh is the model type)

It's going to be fun watching Henry and Aditya over the coming series.
I suspect their games are going to be more quality than the Tests.

Re: Michael Clarke's form
Clarke himself has said he needs to start scoring runs. Whether he has the mental strength to produce under this sort of pressure remains to be seen.

Re: Michael Clarke's form
Obviously Clarke's form is a concern and was camouflaged by the Ashes heroics but agree about his positioning in the order. While some say the best batsman should bat where he bats best to maximise the effectiveness of his contributions, over recent summers there have been debutants and inexperienced players exposed up the order. After promoting himself to #4, where admittedly he struggled again, it was surprising to see him drop down a place. Surely the best player has to try to come in as early as possible and seize the momentum. Doolan at first drop was a killer last night.
Warnie and Chappelli keep banging on about him being the best batsman in the world but if he really is he should be assuming greater responsibility.

Had better be tasty, both teams will do their best to make the series tastelessly dull.

I love this - the most cerebral of comments:

Also pleased to see Graeme Smith demonstrate the case for DRS with his calls.
That's like saying that someone who has crashed their car demonstrates a poor case for driving cars. Or a rapist demonstrates a poor case for penises. The sort of ill thinking displayed by brain damaged fish. Don't get me wrong, I love Aditya - he makes you think outside the box. Of course, he's just filled the box with rotten flesh, diarrhoea and bottled twattery, so it's best to get the f*ck out of the box in the first place.

S**t . . . that's a shed load of stuff in his box (even with you leaping out of it) - makes you wonder how he runs between the wickets when out in the middle batting.

Re: Michael Clarke's form
Is this another sort of Trevving?
Although you did get him good in the 2nd innings, Trev, caught at deep mid-off, first ball!
You do have a rare talent ... it's good to see you using it for good.
