You hear all sorts of biased nonsense from ex players in the lead up to an ashes series (Mcgrath, Botham etc), but Gilchrist seems to have put that all aside to give an honest assessment of how things stand.

Yeah, with the bookies Aus are still favourites. And probably rightly so considering their home record over the last 15 years. Bit I haven't heard anything positive said about them for a month now.

Games are played on grass. Not in the press, unfortunately.

If Aus play well they should win. Even during the 2009 series, when the decks went flat we could never trouble their batting.
