Re: Australia vs England, 3rd Test, Perth, Dec 16-20, 2010
Aussie cricket in crisis.
What exactly has Hauritz done wrong? Apart from not being Shane Warne. Bowled reasonably all Ashes 09 and then dumped from the Oval when you needed him and now dumped for good.
The Aus pace attack doesn't look bad at all - Johnson is a weird one since he's not played any cricket since he was declared rubbish but he is a dangerous bowler - just seems to go all weak when its a pom at the other end. Too talented to discard i'd say.

Could WAT Beer be fast-tracked into the England squad?
Fight Beer with Beer, I'd say. We can all drink to that.

At present we are definitely a Beer team, not a Bollinger team.
Something ales the selection panel.

Allegedly he's meant to have found his X-factor in the nets. It was wrapped up in a pink bow with a discount card to the Subiaco tattooist shop.Big Dog wrote:Why bring Johnson back?....He was dropped for being useless..has'nt played any cricket since..and suddenly he's supposed to be on top again?

Phillip Hughes comes in for the injured Simon Katich, Marcus North has been replaced by Steven Smith and Mitchell Johnson and Ben Hilenhaus have also returned. The surprise inclusion is Michael Beer while Doug Bollenger and Xavier Doherty have both been left out.
Hilenhaus for Bollenger. Sounds reasonable.
Sounds good as I didn't have time to drop Hilf for the previous test and have to lose Katich and Broad already.

All the talk on the Nooz this morning is that the battle for 12th man will be between Midge, Milf and Cot, with Smith and Beer definitely in the XI. At this stage Midge looks the early favourite.

Surely they wont play two spinners at Perth?

Siddle would be 12th out of that. Hilf/Watson to bowl into the breeze.

If Beer plays I tip him to be tonked all over the park and make way for Hauritz or a quick in Melbourne.

Swan may be next.
Phil Carlton? ... well, Carlson was a lot closer to a beer than to Test quality.

England WAGS and kids touch down in Aus tomorrow.
You just know it's all going to end in a lack of focus and complacency. Since Adelaide we've already had Collingwood diving half naked across the wet Adelaide covers, and KP fined for speeding in a Lamborghini. Next it will be Ian Bell arrested for snorting cocaine off a hooker's tits, and Steven Finn spotted in a notorious gay bar wearing a single strip of leather and nothing else.
3-1 to Aus.

It wasn't too bad a beer, IIRC. Then again, at the time I was in my late teens/early 20s, and there was no such thing as a bad beer...
