Who is currently the best all-rounder?
I would say Kallis, Watson, Shakib.
Kallis and Watson both are fast-medium bowlers so they can't bowl as much. But Shakib al Hasan is a spinner allrounder, he is only wat 23, future legend.

Bhajji would be, if he could bowl.

Re: Who is currently the best all-rounder?
yeah, he isn't in the greatest of [bowling] forms.
but as far as my thinking goes, he is in the team for his bowling.
whatever runs he scores is just a tailender bonus for India.
he is a long way of being a allrounder.

Except that Kallis is a better bat and bowler than Watson.punit_cricket wrote:I would say Kallis, Watson, Shakib.

If Kallis has discovered the MoYo secret of 'growing ridiculous facial hair = 50% increase in performance' then everyone better watch out.

Kallis > daylight > Vettori
Shakib is a good call on his stats, I'd like to see him play.
Watson isn't an all-rounder ... he's a batsman who can trundle the ball a bit, but won't for much longer. He won't take as many Test wickets as Steve Waugh did.
Johnson is more an all-rounder than Watson is.
Bravo?

His pace has dropped consistently over the years. He's much more a line and length bowler these days - like Glenn McGrath.

Watson doesn't look like an allrounder because he is a opener, so Ponting doesn't bowl him that much in tests.
He is better in the shorter forms of the game.
And Johnson is not quite an allrounder, batting at 8 says it all. He is a bit like Mohammed Aamer, both left arm seamers, can bat a bit.
Vettori is not a bad call, actually, he is also on the lists.
Bravo is also good, to less seen at international level now a days to be noticed.
Re: Who is currently the best all-rounder?
My top 5 all-rounder list: [currently]
1) Shakib Al Hasan
2) Jacques Kallis
3) Shane Watson
4) Daniel Vettori
5) Dwayne Bravo/Shahid Afridi/Angelo Matthews

LMAO, that is so funny.
Forget all rounder skills, he is hardly there up with his bowling.
Dropped and not in the side because of poor bowling form, forget any batting.
Re: Who is currently the best all-rounder?
just like we all 'lmao' at the suggestion of Watson being an all-rounder. Big joke ...
Good batsman. Can't bowl a hoop downhill. Looks more like a draughthorse at every outing.

So how is that a bad thing? I mean aside from for Stuart Clark, who was shafted by the selectors because he was too much like tgm.DJ_Smerk wrote:PlanetPakistan wrote:Kallis is amazing

Re: Who is currently the best all-rounder?
Anthony McGrath: Test Batting Average = 40.20, Test Bowling Average = 14.00
Glenn McGrath: Test Batting Average = 7.36, Test Bowling Average = 21.64
Glenn was lucky he was born an Aussie. Anthony was clearly the better McGrath but England had quality all-rounders like Flintoff, White, Clarke and Irani that limited the number of Tests he could play.
