Fern leaves
Knee injuries end Bracken's career
Perhaps he shouldn't have spent all that time moonlighting on the women's tennis circuit.
More seriously, the WC side would be far far better if he'd remained fit ...

Re: Fern leaves
Sounds like he'd harboured hopes of a return until relatively recently.
I will always believe that he should have gone to England in 2005 ahead of Tait (and Lee) ... the conditions would have suited his bowling well. Accuracy, left arm variety, and the ability to move the ball were all lacking in that tour and I'm sure he would have been better value than Tait, Lee, and (as it turned out, though I wouldn't have guessed at the time) Gillespie.

He broke down in tears at the press conference to announce his retirement.
A horrid little queen (RD and skully's blue-ribbon idol) was on Fox Sports Nooz this arv saying 'Nathan Bracken was the Roger Federer of one day cricket'.
Sounds like Jonesy wanted a gobful of Fern sap.

Geez, it's not like he hasn't had two years to contemplate it.

Re: Fern leaves
The Australian Ryan Sidebottom.
In other words, the camp version.
Shame for the man, and his national side. Are career-threatening injuries to seamers mor or less common than they used to be? On the one hand, a lot more cricket played at the top levels of each format. On the other, superfitness regimes you might expect to sort that out. Do they? (Jonah and Watto would seem to be two cases at least of overtraining, especially in the muscles dept.)

Re: Fern leaves
I suppose lefties are more liable to break down (from Reid and Wasim to Bracken and Sidebottom, with various in between) because of the vrious weird angles of run-up and delivery they almost always seem to have to adopt.
Which is odd - isn't it? - when you would expect their actions to be just mirror-images of orthodox right-hand bowling.

Nah, at least Sidearse had his moments of success in test cricket. Bracken did nothing in tests.

eowyn, suggest you look up the most detestable turd in the punchbowl that is Australian society. He goes by the name of Alan Jones. Not the F1 driver. The so-called broadcaster.eowyn wrote:Zat wrote:He broke down in tears at the press conference to announce his retirement.
