Not in the field they haven't... can your batting eyes go before your fielding ones?

Shame we don't have squads of 20+ like in football World Cups. Then teams could take injured players along in the hope they would be fit for the later stages, instead anyone not fit for the start has to miss out completely which is a bad thing for the tournament.

I wonder if there was a temptation to call up Kieswetter to replace Morgan as a specialist batsman? He seems to have regained his form, and could have done some damage at the top of the order on the slow, flat pitches that are likely to be produced. Ah well....

That would have been my call too, Bopara can hit sixes but is pretty much a correct type of player unlikely to go for it in the same way.

But then it f*cks them if Kieswetter comes off - people will ask why on earth Matt Prior is in the squad. The England brains-trust have very much attached their cheer-leading pom-poms to the grubby Sussexfrican and probably don't want to lose face any more than they already have done.

Similarly, Bopara would probably be a better bet opening than Prior. But it's not going to happen...
