UK Froumers - Amazing cricket documentary

Incase you missed it on BBC4 the other day then its still on iPlayer: "Storyville: Afghan Cricket Club - Out of the Ashes'

It charts the rise of the Afghaistan cricket club, through the eyes of their players and charismatic coach Taj Malik, preparing for their first overseas tour to Jersey (ICC Division 5), from the most basic equipment, and barely any experience of playing on grass wickets. They are fast learners though and it is incredible how much they improve from almost being beaten by Jersey in the Div 5 final to eventually a couple of years later taking on India in the ICC T20. Also, having been only used to bad news stories coming out of Afghanistan its interesting to see a different side to their culture.

Seems BBC4 had some sort of cricket night, because there's also a really interesting documentary called 'Not Cricket: The Captain and the Bookmaker' about the life of Hnasie Cornje

Aye, I read a review in Wisden a couple of months back, then saw it was on the other night so I just had to watch – it was a lovely story, it had everything a viewer could ask for – really nice ending too, it drew some form of emotion from me, which I didn’t expect greatly.
