Re: From Ironing Board to Board Room
That's it, vilks. Capability not quotas. Nobody begrudges a talented person being elevated to a senior position but some may resent a person being elevated on chest measurement and dress size.

there is still no doubt old boys clubs operating in many workplaces and doubtless boards where dill blokes are promoted beyond their capability ...remember it is the "Peter Principle" , not the "Peta Principle"

Re: From Ironing Board to Board Room
Most women on boards of directorship are the f*cking pits. And what I mean by that is they're amongst the most evil creatures on the planet.
I think being on the rag doesn't help
or if they're a bit older the menopause doesn't help
or if they're a bit older than that the absolutely rampant penis envy they've harboured all their lives doesn't help.

I actually support the cause of feminism as you would have gathered esp re fam violence, expoloitation etc...but the drear upper class nobettes tho carrying on about the boardroom do not do it for me tho...they are nobs irrespective of gender
it is depressing that this is the best feminism can raise these days

Lefty's always try to cling to the high moral ground because common sense & logic is always out of reach.
Re: From Ironing Board to Board Room
Sage. Just see if you can find a single straight answer from them on the Aus Fed Politics thread. Lots of "I couldn't be bothered dignifying that question with an answer."

Whoaaaa.... horrie, you have a good old-fashioned case of the giant NSR. But take whatever umbrage you feel necessary.
When a man or woman gets to directorial level they leave their gender behind, to me they become amoral, prejudiced, self-important, out of touch with reality, out of touch with the internal workings of the company, workshy and have one set of rules for just themselves. They abuse their power. To me, they're mainly qunts.
If I've offended your sensibilities then I'm sor.... go suck my f*cking balls you old, decrepit, p!ss-soaked harrumphy-type shitweasel.

It might be like that at some places but definately not all.

Re: From Ironing Board to Board Room
I already said my Mum used to work at board level earlier in the thread, would have thought it obvious that I resented the implication that she was "amoral, prejudiced, self-important, out of touch with reality, out of touch with the internal workings of the company, workshy and have one set of rules for just themselves".
It might happen with some companies/people but not all.

Re: From Ironing Board to Board Room
I said 'mainly'. Plus, you can't vouch for her from a work perspective, unless you're in the board room yourself. People usually get that far by being qunts - not all, for instance my current boss got there purely through hard work. But I maintain my position.
