Best I can say for umpire Malcolm is that he isn't biased.

Is he the Windies gift to India to try and wipe out all the dark deeds done by Steve Bucknor?

Vicki has finally got to his half, supported by Crashon Bore.
Not with his usual fireworks, though. "A responsible innings."

Pollard is actually starting to look like a BATSMAN. And playing damn well. There's so much talent to work with there if only he'd start playing first class cricket again.

More embarrassing stuff from Norman Malcolm. Roach was run out by about 5cms there, India appealed, but he didn't even go to the third umpire.
Has an Umpire even been substituted mid game due to incompetence?

Ishant draws blood (OK so it was Roach). So promising and so crap simultaneously.

Gosh, Bhajji is a dick. He's trying to signal, from the stands, to Norman 'Wisdom' Malcolm that he's made a mistake not referring a run-out chance. What a tosser. It doesn't make the decision to not review it any less shite, however.
Still, old Norm has now offended the Indians - so we won't have to worry about him umpiring at an international level for long.

Llama was good when he was line and length, hadn't seen such excellent control in a while. Then he seemed to become obsessed with bowling faster and acting a twat. Which is a shame.
Re: WI v India in Caribbean, June 2011
He's a legend. Need more umpires like these to convince the mysterious "senior players" (who probably really are BCCI idiots) that they need the DRS.

Well, still not there, but it's a start.

Aye - it may take India all of 35 overs to get them.

They all seem to be toeing the party line, though. So far I've heard statements from Dhoni and Sachin berating the technology for 'not being 100% accurate' - you know, like us humans are. That's one captain and one legend giving it a big no-no. So it seems like the BCCI are in for the long haul.
It's quite perplexing really, it's distinct that the DRS can only aid in the decision-making process.
Re: WI v India in Caribbean, June 2011
Dhoni maybe, because he had the Bell thing in the world cup too, but I can't believe sensible guys like Dravid, Laxman, Sachin, Zak, etc., would actually believe that DRS is not the future.

"He called for the DRS and got the reprieve as the available technology showed the ball would have missed the leg stump after striking his pad. In the past, Tendulkar has consistently given a thumbs-down to DRS, saying he was not fully convinced with the controversial referral system, after getting the wrong end of the stick during India's tour to Sri Lanka in 2008.
On India's next visit to the Emerald island last year, Tendulkar had said that instead of DRS, he was more in favour of the ‘Hot-Spot' technology which is an infra-red imaging system used in cricket to determine whether the ball has struck the batsman, bat or pad.
“I am not fully convinced with the referral system (DRS).
When I was here last time I was not convinced with many decisions. I did not feel comfortable, it was an experiment which I felt...,” Tendulkar had said after notching up his fifth double hundred in Tests in Colombo.
Sehwag, on the other hand, had expressed his total support to DRS in Mumbai on November 1 last year.
"
Seems like he's 'not convinced'. On the surface, at the very least. If he is convinced, then the BCCI feel strongly enough about it to force him to say differently.
The thing is, I don't think any other country will want to stop using it, so the BCCI (for once) will eventually have to fall in line.
Re: WI v India in Caribbean, June 2011
Hmm, shall I go out on a limb.... yeah, yeah I will. Daren Bravo is the worst ever slip fielder I have seen. He's been saved by Sammy getting Tiwary out in the next over.
Re: WI v India in Caribbean, June 2011
Well Tiwari stank up the place- plays away from his body. I'll give him a pass, or several passes, as he's a noob. But ...

He looked as bad in his debut. But he's really not that bad. Too nervous maybe.

I rate Tiwary, but he looked all at sea. Not even half a clue.

Tony Martin strikes! That will teach Kohli to linger too long on this patch of land.
