CA apparently 'asked fans' about t20 'innovations'
According to this story in cricinfo, anyway...
http://www.espncricinfo.com/australia/content/current/story/516731.html
I've just double checked the email address I use for my 'Australian cricket family' emails, and saw nothing about it. Hardly surprising though, as I'm a genuine cricket fan who attends games already, and is interested in Test cricket and ODI contests, and really couldn't give a flying rats clakca about t20 in any form. I suspect my views would mean I am no chance of being surveyed on such 'innovations' as:
They might as well just abandon any pretence of calling it cricket.
FWIW, Michael Hussey, who I suggest may be a bit of a brown-noser for CA, has given a 'cautious thumbs-up' in another cricinfo story.

I suspect my views would mean I am no chance of being surveyed on such 'innovations' as:
- A 'super over' DURING a team's innings where all runs scored count double.
- Balls hit for six can be kept by spectators
- Allowing the 12th man to be used by the batting team as a 'pinch hitter'
- Graduated fielding restrictions, only one man outside the circle for the first five overs, two for the second five, three for the third five, and four for overs 15-20
They might as well just abandon any pretence of calling it cricket.

Did any of the Aussie FBers receive said survey? It was apparently sent out around May 26th.

So they didn't actually ask people, as such. Thanks Nath.

And, for what it's worth, I feel a little like vomiting at the idea of having to 'like' Cricket Australia to have input when the organisation is loaded with slack qunts.

Re: CA apparently 'asked fans' about t20 'innovations'
Like Zat, i looked for the survey last week when i heard about it but could'nt find it either.
I did read somewhere, (can't remember where) that most of the 'innovations' had been dismissed.

Re: CA apparently 'asked fans' about t20 'innovations'
Here's some innovation:
a) lengthen it to 50 overs;
b) only allow 3 games of it per tour;
c) don't let the BCCI have their own version of it
d) In World Cup versions of it, only use top 10 teams and only have the comp go for 3 weeks max;
e) more naked dancing girls.

One naked dancing girl would be a start.

I'll second all of that apart from the naked dancing girls.

Re: CA apparently 'asked fans' about t20 'innovations'
But would it lure the crowds, Bas? Given what the yoof of today can find on the net, I don't think they'd be enticed to the 'cricket' by a single naked dancing girl. Unless she had a cucmber, a snake, a cup of something slightly suspect, and a rock-star boyfriend with an enormous organ.

Thought that would be your first choice.

Naked dancing girls would create too much competition for the role of 'dumbest bint at the match'.

Graduated naked dancing girl restrictions, only one naked dancing girl on the pole for the first five overs, two for the second five, three for the third five, and four for overs 15-20 and free lap dances for every wicket

That would get quite messy, unless there was actually one dancing girl per spectator.embee wrote:Graduated naked dancing girl restrictions, only one naked dancing girl on the pole for the first five overs, two for the second five, three for the third five, and four for overs 15-20 and free lap dances for every wicket

I would watch a T20 if those puppies made an appearance with every boundary.
