No Lords test for the Windies next year.
Outbid by Cardiff it would appear.
Flucking ridiculous.

Let's be honest- The Windies are basically a minnow side these days. Especially in England, where their record since 2004 has been absolutely awful.
They don't really deserve a Lord's test.

The Lords test is iconic. Not playing a test there as part of a series debases the currency imo.

One Lords test per year and the other venues (including the 3 new ones) to have tests on a rota system, like it used to be. The bidding process is a joke.

London shouldn't have three Tests out of seven per year. They were pointing out on Sky the other day the fact that nowhere north of Nottingham has one this summer.
The main series of the year should always play at Lord's, and there should be a second one on some occasions so the lesser sides get to play there from time to time (but leave out the Oval on those occasions). The bidding process does seem silly though, the 8 or 9 Test ground counties need some degree of certainty as do the ticket-buying public in different parts of the country.

Exactly, I included the (Brit, Cola Cola, Hienz Baked Beans or whatever sponsor they have this year) Oval in the rota idea. Let the counties have certainty about what games they are going to host. To survive in the long term they need to have this security.

I think they're going to stop the blind bidding process, which is sh!thouse anyway.
It's a shame for the Windies, it's always an honour for the tourists to play at Lord's. Though T'Oval's their spiritual home.

How many times have WI toured recently? They stood in for Zimbabwe/SL a couple of years ago, just after their "win the first Test then play 11 batsmen" series win in the Caribbean. They also had a full tour in 2007. Three Lord's Tests in 5 years against a team which quite frankly is a minnow in Test cricket nowadays is too much.

I think WI were batting when I went. Plenty of Red stripe, plenty of sun, good crowd.
Yes, definitely WI batting, with Giles on the boundary. Caddick on the boundary in 2001, Oval.
I remember now.
