Aus to play Pak at Lords & Headingley next year
Venues announced - makes sense. Wonder what date they're on - wouldn't mind going to the Lords one.
Additionally Lords & Old Trafford are the venues for the Bangla tests. Lucky Old Trafford....

That Headingley one will be like a Pak home game. I expect the Lord's one will be like an Aussie home game. Should be good shit. On at normal times and everything - coupled with the fact we never used to get Pak home games anyway, we should count ourselves lucky.

Awesome - more prime time test cricket next year.

Aye, ace.
First neutral Test Australia has played in England since 1908(?) and the England/Australia/South Africa tri series...
Now there was an idea before it's time.

Yeah, you're right.
Mental really. But it is a good idea.
Shame in some ways, as they'd have to f*ck up series by doing it.

1912 it was...
Pity it wasn't repeated...the cricket world could be very different if it had taken off.

Yeah, I mean there's been parts of a doctrine of how the Test Championship could work. I just don't like the fact it will split up series. If it was worked into an FTP as in they halt it for a year or something, it might be OK.
as an aside, I don't like your sig. The Ashes isn't going to change hands in the next 18 months. Hence, really, you could edit it factoring in the extra time.
Re: Aus to play Pak at Lords & Headingley next year
I'd use the current (flawed) rankings to pick the top four and have a play off series played over a 6 month period. 1 v 4, 2 v 3, then the Final. Three Test series for the Semis, 5 Test series for the Final...could be pretty exciting.
And re my sig, I'll get bored with it in a month or so.

Yeah, that's a pretty good idea although it still leaves questions over the legacy of players who may not be around anymore.
In this doctrine, it was mooted that there was the top 8 playing one-off Tests a-la a football league - home and away. The problems were the whole fact that England is a heap of wetness.
That would theoretically mean 14 Tests in a year for each team - which is reasonably standard.
The bottom side would move out and make way for team number 9 after that round. There would be a play-off to determine that team which is obviously Bangla as Zimb isn't about anyway.
It sounded OK as it means that it would be quite fair, although would leave it open for some muggings.
who knows... it's too much to comprehend.

Lets hope PAK are a test standard team by next year.
There is a 3 match series in NZ and one in AUS later this year so lack of cricket should no longer be an excuse.

So will tons and fivers be recorded in the dressing rooms?
Which begs the question if it is a Pakistan player, does it go in the home dressing room?

Yeah, but that was in 1912. I doubt if the boards were up at that stage.
