an honest sri lankan
one of the nurses here got back today from a holiday in Srii lanka...says that she had a great time....checked out Galle stadium and said she could not believe how little it was...the locals there idolise MuMu of course but are also massive TGM fans...the nurse says she met a SL bloke who confessed he thinks MuMu is a complete and utter thrower who should have been tossed from the game...the bloke said he had to be careful who he told as he valued his skin

Really? I work with quite a few said expats and they think the sun shines out of Chuck's dinger. Which, of course, is perfect for winding the crap out them.

it's possible I deal with the predominantly Sinhalese rather than Tamils

Tamils and Sinhalese alike, I've yet to find one that agrees with me if I suggest that Warnie holds the world wicket-taking record because Chuck has 800 no-ball "wickets". Maybe they are more mellow down south.lardbucket wrote:it's possible I deal with the predominantly Sinhalese rather than Tamils

Not sure; one of my Sri Lankan workmates is quite happy the description of Muralitharan as a chucker. And he's a Tamil! (born in Sri Lanka, but brought up in South Africa, so perhaps distance has lent him perspective)

Generally outstanding folk, so I don't really ever attempt to wind them up. They love their cricket and I'm generally happy to discuss with them the outstanding rise to prominence of the Lankan side. They are all resigned to SL post-Chuck being mediocre, as we are Aus post-TGM.

You are acutely lacking in humour lately.

I'm not sure he was ever into the obtuse range. Nor did anyone need especially acute vision to detect the intermittent and variable abnormality.

Maybe we just misunderstood when the ICC said the angle of MuMu's elbow was right
