Aye, I know. I was willing Tonga on, at least to get some pointz racked up.

Still lost the second half as well, but they put up a fight, and showed good defensive strength and spirit.

I also took the even money on Tonga with a 56.5 points start. Score!

So far, the fox coverage has left me underwhelmed.

Was re-watching the opening match this morning. One of the imbeciles in the commentary box for fox said (as NZ decided to go for goal early instead of a try) 'There's no bonus points for scoring four tries in the World Cup'

Well, I suppose he's right come the knockout matches, but in the group stage they're on offer.

Though in the (unlikely) event of a draw at the group stage tries count.

Yes, which is why it's important to get the bonus points, because if you score thirteen tries across your four games 4,4,4,1, winning the first three and losing the last one, it's a whole lot better for you than scoring them 2,3,3,5 and losing the first one but winning the last three.

Of course, Fox sending commentators over who don't know how the tournament works really doesn't help them...

And it's not like the rules are complicated. The commentators are probably all ex-forwards.

Phurt!! Rugby teams are made up of eight forwards but because the rules say there must be fifteen players, they include seven backs.

All results as expected so far. Some entertaining games non the less.

Japan are taking it right up to the Frogs. Doesn't matter that all the Japs points have come from their Kiwi ring-in. its still a gutsy effort.

Don't know. I guess the guy has permanent residency in Japan. Very good game nevertheless. Quite close until Japan tired towards the end & the Frogs ran over them.

Japs v Frogs was great fun. Final score flattered the Frongs somewhat.

Romania looked decent as well.

I saw it as well skully. It was just feckin brilliant. My dodgy memory had me thinking it was the intercept, Flats kicking goals & not much else.

New Zealand can't copyright a colour... shouldn't be any more of an issue than wearing any other country's home colours as an away kit.

Not working for us so far, though. Can't believe the lack of discipline, though at least Argentina are missing their kicks and Lawes seems to be on a one-man mission to injure the whole of the opposing team... Was never going to be an easy starter but hopefully we can at least get some decent territory and let Jonny drop-kick us to a narrow win.

Well we scraped that then, Argies are by no means mugs as they proved at the last WC. Don't think we have enough in the locker to threaten at this tournament though....
