Aye. Thankfully they were much better in the 2nd half. I wish Quade Cooper would stop clogging up the backline. The arrogant little qunt seems to think he can step his way through any defence.

Aye, should be a decentish match. Though I heard the Taffs have only won 1 of 25 matches against SA since 1906. So hardly the most promising for an upset.

Excellent game. Taffs could've so easily had it with both a dropped goal and a penalty that could've put 'em in front. SAffs dodge a bullet.

Tough on the Leeks.

Still, Bokke scored two tries to one, and Hook's kicking turned to piss in the wind.

Well played Wales (mostly). Good ad for the Northern Half.

Not really a good weekend for any of the top four. Though it seemed in the Oz game Deans was running scrum and breakdown drills.

Yeah, a real shame. Wales dominated large parts of the game and were a little unlucky. It seemed that SA turned it on at the crucial stages.

Aye, goal kicking was the difference. A wee bit o' controversy with Hook's 2nd penalty goal attempt. Seemed to just be inside the goalposts but the touchies ruled no goal. Hook actually asked for a video ruling which was turned down.

I disagree BD. I thought it was a very sound hit out. The Italians picked backs that could tackle & chase a kick. Service through the hands is always a little slower when it's wet so it was no surprise that defensive holes weren't prised open early. O'Connor was bought on when the holes began to occur. The fatties were tiring & weren't sliding as effectively. Inside balls bought results. O'Connor was good enough to take advantage.

Considering the questions being asked I thought it was a pretty good start.

The only real concern to me was A A-C under the high ball. I stopped counting at 3. He can expect to be tested repeatedly in coming matches. I don't see it as a chronic problem that can be turned to advantage.

It was a sound hitout for the forwards. The backs on the other hand, were all over the place for two thirds of the game. It was'nt until the Eyties tired that our backs got on top of their spoiling tactics.
