Of course, Obama a most of the yanks think nothing of their domestic baseball champs being labeled 'World Series' winners, or the Super Bowl winners called 'world champions'.

The yanks do it with horse shows too. Say you own a certain breed of horse and you take it to the 'world show' of its breed association in the States. No one from any other country with that breed of horse is there, just people from the States. But if you win, you're the World Champion!! They're so frickin insular. Wonder if they do it with dogs, cars, people.

Pete, I think Obama has a huge sense of humor. But I suspect he may ave missed the irony inherent in his remark.

After all, he has closed down Guantanomo Bay as he said he would, not got the US involved in any more wars, not been responsible for any troop "surges", ended US military involvement in Afghanistan and Iraq, not conducted military operations in supposedly friendly countries, restored full employment and balanced budgets. Absolutely, nothing like Bush at all.

I'd've said, on the coasts, mainly yes. From the Appalachians to the Rockies, with the Deep South and the Great Lakes in between - generally less likely.
