True the only issue though is that we all know he can murder attacks on these roads. He's much less convincing when the ball is moving, i.e. every time he plays in SA and under murky skies in England.

Yep. Overall, I'd still say he has underachieved a lot in ODIs but if he can keep murdering most attacks in tests, I'd be very happy.

Explanation for SG: Shame he wasted this effort in an ODI = he'd have preferred to have done it in a Test. As would any cricketer.

All ODIs outside the WC final are utter gash.

wasted effort? done what in a test? score a double? one at better than run a ball? if he scores here will he not score in a test? puzzling

How difficult is it?

All ODI's other than the WC are gash - this has always been my position.

Sehwag's innings of 219 was wasted in an ODI - he would prefer that this effort (219) was achieved in a Test.

At no stage did I decry Sehwag's Test efforts, which have been very fine indeed ... but hey, carry on constructing straw man arguments and cutting them down.

Or ... for the terminally slow ...

'Mr Sehwag, you can have 219 runs in an innings shortly. Would you prefer to achieve this in a Test, or in a meaningless ODI on a road, v the Windies?'

Segwag's not the sharpest tool in the box. He might actually choose the latter. Or an IPL game.

It's a huge achievement. Huge. Regardless of the game, it's currently unparalleled and a similar achievement has happened only once in the entire history of ODIs. Belittle it however you want, facts are it was an astonishing innings.
