You have me mixed up with an Ear, Nose and Throat Doctor who gives a rats. But thanks all the same.tac wrote:skully wrote:Farkin smart@rse. I've been working all arvo on a manuscript about thyrolaminectomies . . . just saw the crocinfo scorecard.
They're generally done in combination with a sternohyoid myotomy to reduce aspiration.
It reduces the thyroid so that it can elevate further during swallowing to help close of the larynx and stop food entering . . . which is called aspiration.

But this procedure is specifically for those with deglutition disorders and is aimed at preventing the bolus passing into the larynx during swallowing.
I'm translating a series of papers written in Japanese back in the 80s for a professor in the US. Tedious stuff, Stiffy, and I need a good snuffle

Yep, little skull doesn't have much of a ring to it. I can't call two of you Big Jack though, that would get confusing. How about you become "meaty skully"?

So you went from a punk who wanted to punch the larynx of a teacher in, to an expert on larynxs and their environs. I'm impressed.tac wrote:eowyn wrote:You can aspirate anything into the lungs accidently, not just food.....
