Aye, decent effort considering the sh!t that Australia were in.
I don't know the official figure but I'm getting the target as 150 to win for Sri Lanka (from the DL website).

As long as I live, I will never understand how D/L works. I reckon it's voodoo black magic.

I don't think anyone does. Thankfully there's a calculator.

Dilligaf wants to win this by 10 wickets in a hurry. Probably merciful.

What does Hussey junior have to do to get a gig in the test team - he's a battler if nothing else compared with some of the lightweights Oz have picked recently.

What is the bonus point rule? Is it that the RR has to be 1.2 or 1.25 times better?

Be 10 years younger. Although I reckon they might take him to the West Indies in the test squad.

SL have to get the runs in less than 80% of the overs. Which they will clearly do on their ear.tricycle wrote:What is the bonus point rule? Is it that the RR has to be 1.2 or 1.25 times better?

Dilshan's gone, not that it should make too much of a difference.

I don't even want to know what's going here...
... but I am curious as to why Mark Nicholas uses a creosote-based moisturiser.

Clarke's saying "I'm NOT going to be Lucky Pierre".

Credit to the Lankans they made they pitch look like a minfield with the ball, and a road with the bat.
Outside of Nikki and some support from starkers, the word inept is the most polite way to describe it. To blame the loss on the captaincy of Pontiing is being overly simplistic.
As far as selections go, if the NSP are serious about looking to the future in ODIs, then it is time to tap Ponting on the shoulder to step aside, likewise Warner needs to re-discover his mojo sooner rather than later, or risk joining Haddin as being "rested".

So Sutherland admits that something went awry with the NSP and Haddin.

And you have to laugh with David Hussey in Wade's corner.

But it's cricket and will have to do in the absence of the real stuff.

What is the point in continuing with Ponting and Hussey?

None, really. With a not-so-challenging tour of the Windies coming up, it's a perfect time to blood Forrest and someone else in the middle order.
Open with TCS and Moo, tell Watto to STFU about opening and bat 3, Pup at 4 (although right now, he's batting well enough to be our no. 3), Forrest at 5, some new superhero a 6 and Wade at 7.
