Don't know how Cairns won that - from the excerpts I caught during the case, he seemed to getting drilled by the evidence.

Must've been the famous heresay evidence, which as we now know, isn't real evidence unless someone can prove they've done a no-wiper.

It's fair do's. There didn't seem to be clear evidence on offer.

In any case, Modi loses, so really everyone wins.

Sure about that? Everything I've read says that Cairns receives 90k quid and the legal fees of 400k quid was to be paid by Lalit Modi.

Aye, the damages to Cairns(£90,000), Cairns' legal bill(£400,000) and his own legal bill (£1+ Mill). I did assume that he'd have his legal bill paid, but then I know nowt about owt.

It's ridiculously expensive. Luckily I haven't had to do it much. If I had to, I'd have to try and find a 'no win, no fee' f*cker. Hopefully I never have to go near them.

Mixed feelings.

Fair play to Cairns, but I don't really see him as the outraged party based on the evidence offered by the Indian players - which admittedly did not stand up in court.

On the other hand Modi is a qunt.
