Cairns 1(74,000) - 0 Modi

Don't know how Cairns won that - from the excerpts I caught during the case, he seemed to getting drilled by the evidence.
Must've been the famous heresay evidence, which as we now know, isn't real evidence unless someone can prove they've done a no-wiper.

Can't remember the explanation. But how can it be classified a no wiper if you have to wipe to check it is a no wiper?

insane amounts for legal fees. the no-win no-fee bit does not make sense in this case, unless cairns' lawyers are now going to send inflated bills to modi

Years of experience will tell you a true no-wiper.

It's like that blind woman sculpting Lionel Richie's face in Hello.
You don't have to see it to believe it. Or, indeed, sculpt it.

Aye, or like the SAS... they've kicked in your windows, shot your dog and eaten your recently spread Marmite toast but you don't know where they are. You just know that they are

So Modi's just proven again that he's a fart with his all the hot air about the Cairns case. What a twat. Also, what's new?

'dan review'? He's subject to a review by me?
OK:
Modi, you're a qunt.

I think that's succinct enough.

Modi - absolute qunt.
Cairns - Lucky to have got anything bearing in mind the "hearsay evidence" submitted (wouldn't have got what he did in an Indian Court!).
Result - as you were ... Modi'll feck off back to Banindia and Cairns won't see a penny.
The Winners - The lawyers.... so what's new?

Heard Modi has to foot the 1.5 million quid legal bill. One point five million! Jesus f*cking H f*cking Christ. They'll be the first on the fire when the robots take over.
Re: Cairns 1(74,000) - 0 Modi
We didn't need a court case to know that Modi is a lying scumbag.
Cairns won't see a cent, and Modi won't stop making unfounded allegations.

Sure about that? Everything I've read says that Cairns receives 90k quid and the legal fees of 400k quid was to be paid by Lalit Modi.Brass Monkey wrote:Heard Modi has to foot the 1.5 million quid legal bill. Aye, the damages to Cairns(£90,000), Cairns' legal bill(£400,000) and his own legal bill (£1+ Mill). I did assume that he'd have his legal bill paid, but then I know nowt about owt.
Re: Cairns 1(74,000) - 0 Modi
cairns legal bill is 775,000. 400,000 has to be paid immediately
makes one wonder how much it would cost a 'normal' person to pursue a case in england. is it prohibitively expensive for all?

It's ridiculously expensive. Luckily I haven't had to do it much. If I had to, I'd have to try and find a 'no win, no fee' f*cker. Hopefully I never have to go near them.
Re: Cairns 1(74,000) - 0 Modi
Cheers. Perfect timing to get bankrupt then. TwatBrass Monkey wrote:Aye, the damages to Cairns(£90,000), Cairns' legal bill(£400,000) and his own legal bill (£1+ Mill). I did assume that he'd have his legal bill paid, but then I know nowt about owt.

Mixed feelings.
Fair play to Cairns, but I don't really see him as the outraged party based on the evidence offered by the Indian players - which admittedly did not stand up in court.
On the other hand Modi is a qunt.
As Merlo says, the lawyers won.
