West Indies v Australia, 3rd Test, Roseau, 23-27 April, 2012
So Cot and Patto are on the plane and won't be replaced. Starc hasn't bowled much so looks like the Aus "attack" for T3 will be Milf, Rhino, Elmer and Fudd.

aye, the 12 picks itself ... unless there's another injury in the next few days, Forrest seems unlikely to play Test cricket.

Harris can win it on his own.

You might just as well have sent 11 Tasmanians out there.
At least they would have lasted out a series. (Unlike all the softc*ck Vix and Dubber/Billies.)

I wonder who else has their kit over there; Forrest is only one injury away from a debut, and there are no other reserves.
Has Merv got a tour group over there?

Tweet for Warney.
The alternative "win it on his own"er, if Rhino breaks down in mid-charge (again).

With the paper-thin fast bowling stocks we have, the Windies may serve up a green top. Roach is just coming off a 10-fer, afterall.

Will they really play 2 spinners again? I reckon Starc should play.

Huzzah!! Have managed to convince the boss to let me have Monday and Tuesday off (to go with Anzac Day on Wed). Might actually get to watch a decent amount of live Test cricket from the Caribbean next week.

Doesn't look too foul in Dominica...
Allegedly no chance of rain on Day 1, 3 and 4.

Re: West Indies v Australia, 3rd Test, Roseau, 23-27 April, 2012
It's pissing down here again at 9.27 a.m. in Port-of-Spain so they would have struggled with play today too.
Re. the next test, Sammy mentioned last night that they had brought some other batsman into the squad because Kirk Edwards is still injured but I didn't catch his name. Strangely enough, though everybody speaks English here I struggle to understand all of it but they tell us it's the same for them; they struggle with our 'accents'. Quite amusing really. I can't say enough about how delightful the locals are though.
Sammy also said that he was going for the runs and they had Chanders and Deon to stabilise the order if wickets fell.
Pattinson must have been in a bad way because he was there yesterday but only Beer was padded up at the end. Clarke indicated that Starc might get a run but Sammy said that the pitch at Roseau has been similar this season to the one we had here so it will probably favour the spinners again. Clarke also is disappointed with the inconsistency of the team.
Punter's in a really interesting position. The runs he made in Australia against the Indians make it difficult for the selectors but surely they would be tempted to give Forrest a run. He's fielded quite often when players have been off. It's a bit like India and Laxman; most thought he should have stood out the Adelaide test. If they did make the big call and drop Punter that would have to be the end of his career but it's hard to see that happening. It's not just that he hasn't been making runs though; he has struggled at the crease. Obviously he's playing the hook from memory. There was only a brief glimpse of the old Punter late Wednesday when he played some nice strokes. Yesterday, like has been the case of late, he found it hard to start again.
Warner has looked as if he doesn't quite know what to do in the role. He wants to attack but also it appears as if he fears going out. He looks so despondent when he leaves the ground after a dismissal.
As for Cowan, most in the tour group agree that he's a limited player with a limited future. He struggles to turn over the strike. He's wasted a couple of referrals.
It was interesting the other night at our farewell dinner, Stacky held a q & a session and people asked open questions which he answered honestly.
He was asked to rate the keepers he saw and the best ever he rated was Knott talking about his cleanness with the gloves. He said that during the horror test at Leeds in 1972 when the pitch was diseased and it was a keeper's nightmare to the spinners he never put a foot wrong and took all the ball which were kicking etc. cleanly. He also rated Grout saying that the ball just disappeared into his gloves without a sound. He thought Marsh was excellent the quicks.
Another guy asked about Kallis and he said while he admires what he's done, he has Sobers a mile ahead and rates bowling all-rounders like Dev and Khan ahead of batting ones. Some commented that they thought Kallis gets rated harshly. He also rated Lara ahead of Tendulkar but said he was biased because he thought he was always better to watch. There were also so interesting anecdotes including the one regret he has about missing out on captaining Australia because when Chappelli was injured in Trinidad he wanted to pull out and his face was badly swollen but Stacky persuaded him to play and captain.
Just on keepers, the jury must be still out on Wade. Again yesterday he let through more byes which looked regulation for a gloveman.
Let's hope the weather if fine for the last test because there is still potential for a great finale. The Windies have probably surprised with how competitive they have been. Roach looked pleased as punch with his exploits. He's also the one West Indian who usually gets the review process right because he often signals that he thinks it went over etc.

Thanks. Also Powell looks really promising but he is a bit impetuous with his strokeplay.

I would imagine a similar side. If Fidel is injured as reported then Rampaul will come in for him. Fudadin might come in for one of Barath, Brathwaite or Powell(all have looked terrible thus far) but I imagine they will probably stick with the same side. Our batting is already inexperienced without adding a debutante to it. But Fudadin scored 2 centuries this year in First class cricket(only batsman with more than 1 which says how bad our batting is at domestic level) so they may want to give him a shot since we no longer can win the Frank Worrel Trophy.
