Can someone explain to me why a stock goes up when they post a shit result??

Rio Tinto announced a $3 billion annual loss today, yet their shares went up $1.61 or 2.2%. scratch

Maybe it's why I don't trade in individual equities. shrug

Understated it - 2.3% down. $35 billion wiped off the value of the market.

All skully's fault.

'+' and a certainty. Unlike the sleep you lose over quntish stock markets. Gave half a thought yesty to selling off half of what I bought 3 weeks ago at 4,900, but decided against it. Idiot.

Qunt of a day at work, qunt of a trip home in the most heinous traffic, qunt of day on the ASX. Mad

All Ords followed Wall St early but has shat itself from 10.30 am onwards. The rollercoaster of the ASX is farkin hard work.

Have really got into watching Fox 602 lately as I nurse my Super towards retirement. Yesty they were all bullish, talking about the Fibonacci "Golden" ratio of 61.8% (rise from lowest point) being breached (5,420 All Ords), but today it's more about "consolidation", "the correction we had to have" etc.

Got in at 4,850 - do I ride it out, or sell and wait for a correction back to 4,800 and buy in again? Damn, I couldn't be a day-trader. It'd kill me.

Who knows. Ironicially it could be stronger retail figures which suggest that the economy is doing OK but also probably makes rate cuts more unlikely.

Charming. My "anger" was tongue in cheek and aimed at investors in general. I have a 12 month target for the equity component of my Super portfolio, and don't really take day-to-day fluctuations too much to heart.

I was actually the good child who gave my mother zero issues to worry about. The smart eldest boy.

Clearly you are having a bad day. Pretty uncalled-for post, Mick.
