Yay, James Tredwell.
I know if I were a Yorkie, i'd be snapping up any ticket going to watch this!

Windies surely have some chance with the poms resting players but they have too many players who blow hot and cold and who appear to be jack of trade but masters of none type units.

Ian Bell:
"There's no doubt people want to come to see the Broads, Andersons and Bresnans. But they will be seeing young, exciting guys who will be big players for England over the next few years."
"The key to our success in one-day cricket is having five out-and-out world-class bowlers."
This only compounds the complete mystery of Tredwell's selection. I didn't think he was any of those things. The only way he is going to be a big player for England is with a lot of pies and cake. How can he be exciting? He's ****** bald as a marble. Why did we bother picking Briggs and Borthwick last year if we are just going to play Tredwell?! Is he there just to keep the RR down in the middle overs? Wickets do it better...

Hope Bairstow gets a game as well, he's been stuck carrying drinks since his difficult experience in the Test series. None of the other young batsmen got a look in for the squad at all...

I disagree with the notion that having 5 world class bowlers is what gets you success in ODIs, in test cricket absolutely but our failure in the batting department is the biggest hurdle.

Aye, Tredwell's all a bit too meh. His lofty shit is OK when it grips... otherwise it's just total tonk-fodder. I totally see what Clam's saying about going to the likes of Briggs then back to Treddy - it'a make-a-di no-sense. He's going to be 34-odd when the WC comes around - OK, Swann'll be older, but he's got exceptional talent. It's all a mess IMO, I see the point of experimentation - but only when it'll serve us well for the WC.

Bring back that left handed orthodox dart thrower who also batted lefthanded like a crab front-on to the bowler. His mediocrity means his name escapes me.

Yardy was a half decent performer in T20s. Wasn't suited to ODIs at all, though. Good to see he's back playing cricket after his bout of depression.

Playing for England gets to them all in the end.

The financial and performance-based incentives for young, white South African cricketers of Playing for England gets to them all in the end.
Fixed.

I suppose a 14°C high could be called summer to the Greenlanders.

To be fair summer did start only today (or possibly yesterday).
Having said that, summer has already been and gone; this year it was mid-April.
