Re: London 2012 Memories
It is just as well they played Rock You though.
If they had chosen Neil Kinnock's favourite "We Are the Chaaaamp-yuns", you might have had a mass hysteria from the majority of the competitors. Especially those who came fourth, or last. Or registered a DNF or DQ.
Nooooooooooo time for loooooooooooooooooooozers ..... and nooooooooooo time for Snoooooooozers .....

Re: London 2012 Memories
I did wonder, since it was the fast ish version and that did usually move into we are the champions but my boyf pointed out it was pretty inappropriate, given the circumstances. Only song they could really pull out, so it was fab, apart from the shrieking monster on stage with them.

I'm pretty sure the tears at the medal ceremony were genuine.
I love the thought he may have been super fuelled by memories of his nanna & he's entitled to blubber during the medal ceremony. However I prefer that he honoured nan with dignity & composure rather than making an deliberately exhibition of the process in front of world television. To me, it seemed more about him than nan.

Also Brittany Broben. Only been diving for four years & a complete smokey in the 10M platform but claimed a silver.
Re: London 2012 Memories
Gemma Gibbons looking skywards and dedicating her silver medal to her mum chokes me every time.
Lara Trott's last race against the Seppo in the omnium.
Jason Kenny holding off the mighty Greg Bauge.
Anthony Joshua pulling it out of the bag in a fantastic final round against Cammarelle.
Blake tearing up the bend and reeling in the Seppos in the 4x100. Steve Cram's commentary in the same when he give the baton to Bolt in the lead: "And you know what that means.."

Rodgers should've stayed with free. Despite his Boro background, I couldn't appreciate him.
She was ghastly. Should've got George Michael in. He did it in '92 and I'm sure he could've done it again.
