Jerome Taylor is pretty sprightly for a 43 year old, isn't he?
Re: South Africa v WI, 1st Test, Port Elizabeth, 26-30 Dec
128/5 at the close of play.
Dwayne Bravo came up with yet another cracker of a catch to get rid of Kallis. He almost seems to take at least one brilliant catch in every test match.

IF they win this test, it won't mean their back to the good old days of Windies Cricket. It'll be a very interesting next few days, but I just feel if Windies can win or atleast draw this test, then they will have high energy going on for the rest of the series.
If they win convincingly, by a large margin. I'm afraid South Africa may crumble because when West Indies are ontop, they are one of the most energetic teams in World Cricket, especially with the likes of Dwayne Bravo in the ranks. Once Windies get a win and are on a roll it will take alot to stop them. They just need to get that Win to seperate them from the likes of Bangladesh and Zimbabwe, also England at the moment.
The World is behind the West Indies.

Yeah... a test win is hard work for the Windies. I'm not sure if they remember how to do it, but I sure hope they keep it together and pull through. They MUST polish off the remaning five wickets quickly!

They need to apply themselves more in the 2nd innings. And stop depending on Chanderpaul to this extent, he's not going to come up with a performance every innings. Hopefully the Samuels innings is not a flash in the pan and he actually does justice to his potential and Gayle slogs a bit less.

Fantastic day for the Windies, but I can't help thinking that not breaking the sixth wicket partnership before the close of play might yet come back to bite them on the arse.

7 consecutive test 50's for Chanderpaul drawing level with Sir Everton Weekes and Andy Flowerfor the record. Has not been dismissed for less than 50 in over a year

The argument that Chanders is a FTB holds as much water as the one for Hayden

SA's batting is so reliant on Kallis. Gibbs hasn't got a score for over 2 years, Smith is out of nick, Amla's technique is a bit dodgy....
Prince is a fighter, and AB DeVilliers has a lot of talent, but they really need at least 2 other batsmen to step up and consistently provide Kallis with support.

LOL, would be nice if the Windies win, but can't see it happening...they've forgotten how to.

This lot is pretty young. How can you forget how to do something that you have never done before?

If the Windies get the chance to enforce the follow-on, the question is will they? My money is on them batting again.

Yep, bat again and get a lead of 450 ish. Still 10 sessions left to play, so plenty of time.

No way should they enforce the follow-on. Their pace bowlers are getting a bit tired and it would be better for them to have SA batting in the 4th innings.

If Gayle enforces the follow-on, he should be shot. After being burned.
