What a team! What a tournament, this is almost as good as Pakistan winning...

And to think that they won without any real FAST bowler....

Spinners and hearty whackers were enough.
But praise to Sammy for all his useful contributions (this time with both bat and ball, I presume also with captaincy too). A thoroughly good, modest, decent fellow as well, which is heartening.

Rampaul's ball to Dilshan was the ball of the tournamentHenry wrote:And to think that they won without any real FAST bowler....

Re: Congrats West Indies....
Good effort by WI... in some regards I'm sure they were most people's favourites, as they have plenty of top boys - but there's something mercurial about them that doesn't allow a person to see them as genuine contenders. If England weren't going to win, then I'm damned glad WI did.
Re: Congrats West Indies....
Not many would have given them any chance of winning any LO game with Crystal only getting 3

Aye, hearty congrats to the Ganjas. Great start by the Lankans to have the Windies 2-14 off 5 including Crystal. But a good knock from Samuels got them to that middling score of high 130s, and once again it was easily enough.
At 1-48 off 9 with Sanga and Mahela going well, looked like a doddle, but once that union was split, they fell like 9-pins.
Well done WI.

Good result ... although I would have preferred Ireland to win.
