The big question: The biggest talent?

Well lets say since 1992(when i started watching cricket) a number of world class fast bowlers have represented their countries and their IPL teams..

...but lets focus on Pakistan

Here is a quick list:

Wasim
Waqar
Shoaib
Aamer
Asif
Zahid

Who do you think was the biggest talent among these 6?

I will give my opinion soon(when i have some time)

I think the answer of the top two is pretty obvious.

Aamer is probably number 1 followed by Wasim

Shoaib and Waqar tied for # 3. Shoaib was certainly the fastest among these four.

Very much so, at the age of 18 Amir was a complete bowler.

Holding and Rameez agree with me. In fact according to Holding, at that age(18 at the time) Aamer was ahead of any bowler that Holding had ever seen.

Talent can win fans. Main goal of any sport is entertainment for the spectators.

Do Pakistani fans REALLY appreciate talent more than actual performances?

Imo, there's no point bowling 155kph if it's sprayed down the leg side and goes for 5 wides, and there's no point in smashing a ball over extra cover for six, if you hit the next ball straight up in the air and are out caught.

I don't know. But it does seem as if Pakistanis and Indians idolise and follow certain players, far more than we do. Almost over the team.

Aamer was a great bowler, but those two tore us apart, year after year.

Everyone of these bowlers mentioned was both FAST and accurate. The only exception is M Asif who was a brilliant seam bowler but NOT very quick.

toughie. besides zahid, who mostly just had blistering pace for a season or two, the other 5 were all immensely talented. put them in any order and it would be fine, though i would go with a top 3 of the 2 Ws and aamer and asif and shoaib not much further back
