Tendulkar retires from JAMODIs
I guess this means he's going to continue on in tests then.

Really should have done it after the the last WC but never mind.
Second greatest JAMODI batsman ever. Well done the little champ.

Re: Tendulkar retires from JAMODIs
He has been drifting off JAMODIs for quite a while. Would be brilliant if he has a good run again in the tests pre retirement there.
Well played Sachin.

Re: Tendulkar retires from JAMODIs
SRT wrote:"I have decided to retire from the One Day format of the game," he said in a statement. "I feel blessed to have fulfilled the dream of being part of a World Cup winning Indian team. The preparatory process to defend the World Cup in 2015 should begin early and in right earnest. I would like to wish the team all the very best for the future. I am eternally grateful to all my well wishers for their unconditional support and love over the years."
It started about April last year, Sach.
But fair play anyway.
Re: Tendulkar retires from JAMODIs
Even though it doesn't matter and he's been playing less and less ODIs and there's absolutely nothing he has to play for anymore in this format.
Still. Feels like a little something died inside.

India = gash = doremi-disappeary.
Re: Tendulkar retires from JAMODIs
Goel made an appearance in the recent test series despite the gash. Kudos.

Aye, he's fine with gashitude. Doris, though, said as much as that he doesn't like coming on here when India are losing.

Re: Tendulkar retires from JAMODIs
That's the difference between us Aussies and Poms, and the rest of the Bails brethren. We love getting on here and bagging the bejehehehehehezus out of our teams when they are going shite. It's therapeutic.

I don't particularly like bagging them, but when I do I feel it's pretty valid stuff. In fact, have I ever been wrong?
Re: Tendulkar retires from JAMODIs
Indians have done a fair job at that, to be fair. And our gashness is far more than any England or Australia has reached in recent times.

I'd disagree, in essence - England have lost 7 Tests this calendar year. We've been pretty abysmal all the way through.

10-1 down against good teams

I would agree that some of the Indians here have done a fair job on bagging their own team.

Too early for the big tributes then.
Suffice it to say, the most stylish strokeplayer of his generation. Who made T20 look a bit embarrassing by demonstration of great elegance, rather than bad timing.

Overall, he was probably almost as good as Lara ... better in ODIs, but not as good in the more important matches.

Re: Tendulkar retires from JAMODIs
Lara was rated number one ODI batsmen by PWC for something like 6 of 8 years between between 1990 and 1997.
