That would be a first. Usually the so called 'majority of peace loving Muslims' don't offer a peep whenever an atrocity is committed in the name of Islam. I've always suspected they are either too scared to denounce these acts of violence or they secretly approve of them. Perhaps if a few more spoke out against the extremists, Muslims would'nt be treated with such suspicion in the west.

The Sufis have always been always peace-loving, music-loving, dance-loving, contemplation-loving.

The intolerant, human-life-hating (and usually hypocritical/ignorant) militancy fused on to the core of Islam is a long-standing phenomenon too, and is the point to resist.

Its ignorance (of the naive devotees) and hypocrisy (of the safe, comfort-loving leaders), its intolerance (strap this bomb on to yourself, good luck in your mission / death if you leave Islam - and we can arrange it for you), and above all else, its loathing of human life on earth (and especially other people's), can be countered for what they are.

And of course, the 'Islamist' fanatics are not the only fundamentalist hotheads around the globe. Or the only tyrants.

They are probably the most numerous as 'a cause' worldwide at the moment, which should not blind us as well.
