At least till the tour, AFAIK.

Cheers.
Not really expecting too much from the test team in the tour proper. Hope they can squeeze out a few tests from Umesh without breaking him down.

Crikey, they've produced some flatties in South Africa this last month. India 476/6 with even Raina belting a century.

Re: Indian tour to SA
The only good I can see coming from this farce is the BCCI patting themselves on their collective backs and thinking that they have finally found some batsmen that can handle SA conditions.

Perhaps the BCCI has ordered Cricket South Africa to prepare flatties this Summer? It's a bit like that these days.....

2 tests at home against WI in Nov and 2 tests in NZ in Jan. Is the SA tour taking place?
Five tests against England next year.

It looks like the Windies series has been created purely so that SRT can play his 200th and perhaps last test in India.

Would think, if anything, it's the fallout with Haroon Lorgat.

Yes please arrange a home series against Weak Windies and retire SRT after that so we will be spared the embarrassment of carrying him to SA......

I don't care that 7 ODIs be reduced to 3 for SA. But scrapping a test is silly. And I don't see a weak WIndies side generating revenue at home. The last rubber against them at home was near half empty stands......

Re: Indian tour to SA
Maybe SA cricket board ordered flat tops so they can make Indians complacent and then ambush them with grassy tops and short stuff when they land for actual tests.....
Raina making 100 is a sure sign a road is there for even Venkatesh Prasad to bat a 100 off......

Re: Indian tour to SA
How long before India refuses to play South Africa, England, and Australia away from home all-together?
And two test series should be banned. Three should be the minimum.
Surely no one is still watching ODIs?

Re: Indian tour to SA
They play five tests in England next year.... even then, not like the ECB has much of a high ground when on about influencing to the level of browbeating.
Pathetic though, even if it were cricket related, and that's extremely unlikely.
About the ODIs, the govt broadcaster still airs live ODI matches, and only home tests (highlights for away tests iirc) While test cricket is for the tragics, the casual sports viewer veers towards JAMODIs here rather than another sport.

My memory's shit, but I thought the crowds were pretty decent in that series.Batman wrote:I don't care that 7 ODIs be reduced to 3 for SA. But scrapping a test is silly. One dayers maybe, but tests not. Tests saw many empty stands. The third test saw some crowds expecting a whitewash but it was not to be.

The whole thing is a farce.
It appears the BCCI is trying to weasel out of playing tests against SA.
